Today is one of my favorite days of the year, World Elephant Day!! Having been lucky enough to travel to Kenya several times along with Tanzania to see these INCREDIBLE animals up close and personal, I hold a very special place in my heart for these majestic creatures. is at the forefront of the conservation, preservation, and protection of wildlife in Kenya and I LOVE supporting them by visiting the nursery in Nairobi whenever I can along with adopting orphaned elephants (currently Nyambeni and Taroha).

A few facts about elephants on

🐘the biggest threat to elephants is human-wildlife conflict, as communities move into habitats previously home to wildlife
🐘African elephants are the largest land mammal on earth
🐘elephants are known to travel up to 60 miles per day in search of food and water
🐘elephants have exceptional long-term memories, vital for their survival in navigating food and water sources
🐘elephants exhibit remarkable emotional intelligence, demonstrating a wide range of complex emotions including deep empathy

The second half of the day was spent in the Beaujolais wine region where we tasted some amazing wine set in the absolute gorgeous backdrop of the French countryside. Truffle hunting in the South of France is something I definitely say absolument oui to!

It was amazing to hear how they train the dogs (feeding them some gradually in their food) and how females are of course the far superior breed when it comes to training.

Getting to taste them was even better! So simply served as to really experience the amazing flavor.

I can’t wait to share all my adventures cruising on down the Rhone River!!
