I went to the edge of the map so I could better help travelers understand what expedition travel actually feels like.

Svalbard is remote in a way that is hard to explain until you are standing there — mountains rising straight from the sea, snow still clinging to the slopes, silence that feels almost alive, and that wild sense of “I cannot believe I am here.”

This journey with Quark Expeditions was more than a trip. It was an education in polar travel, responsible exploration, wildlife viewing, expedition cruising, and the emotional pull of places most people only dream about.

I’ll be sharing what I learned, what surprised me, what travelers should know before booking, and who this type of journey is truly right for.

Because expedition travel is not ordinary travel.

WanderWise is heading to the High Arctic.

From May 12–25, I’ll be out of the office exploring Svalbard with Quark Expeditions—immersing myself in expedition travel, polar landscapes, and life aboard one of the world’s most incredible adventure experiences.
