Plus, tomorrow, cheer on runners at the 9/11 Memorial 5K, hosted by the Valdosta Fire Department, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Valor Service Dogs. Grab a spot along Downtown Valdosta, starting at the Lowndes County Courthouse at the intersection of Valley St. and Patterson St.

Then join us on 9/11 as a community for the memorial ceremony itself, remembering those forever changed by that day.

Each of those 13 columns represents one of the original colonies, and the design has made it one of Valdosta's most recognizable landmarks for over a century. Today, it belongs to Valdosta's Garden Clubs, who've kept the grounds alive with gorgeous seasonal gardens. Step inside and you'll find the house still holds onto its early 1900s charm, with original details throughout. It's a favorite Valdosta spot for weddings, tours, and anyone who wants a quiet walk through some local history.
