We always want to improve our customer service and so we decided to reduce the reservation windows for a few of the Los Padres USFS parks we manage (from 4 days to 1 or 2 days). Just notified yesterday - all National Forest Recreation Areas RMRC operates have been closed due to the Government shut-down.

All RMRC operated campgrounds currently open on USFS lands will be OPEN during the government shutdown. New reservations are not available through ReserveAmerica/ActiveNetwork, but reservations made prior to today will be honored.

Lots of fires in Southern California this year. Santa Barbara campgrounds suffered a big fire right after Memorial Weekend and we lost 2 great campgrounds: Sage Hill and Upper Oso, at least until the end of the year. Nearby campgrounds Los Prietos, Paradise and Fremont were spared and are now open. Here is a photo of one of the company trucks lost in the fire. We are grateful for excellent RMRC camp hosts who evacuated everyone safely from the fire and for the firefighters who helped.

The City of Lake Elsinore is sponsoring an Independence Day Celebration by hosting a FIREWORKS SHOW over Lake Elsinore. The fireworks will be launched from the T-peninsula of the levee system, located at the southern end of the Lake starting at 9:00 PM.
