Have you visited Oregon’s Timberline Lodge on the crest of Mount Hood?

Timberline lodge was completed in 1937 by the Works Progress Administration, a depression-era program that put many unemployed people to work constructing projects like iconic park lodges that still awe visitors today.

Under the Federal Art Project in 1936, painters and artists in textiles, wood, stone and iron joined ranks with the builders of Timberline to create one of America’s first ski lodges and a building of exceptional beauty.

Explore the art of historic Timberline Lodge and learn about the artists and crafts people who helped decorate the lodge during the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s.
