The offshore bite is absolutely on fire out of the Venice Marina! Aaron Genereaux and crew fished with Captain Bob Kenney, and they didn't waste a single minute getting to work.

From the deep water to the rigs, the energy on the Freeman was high all day. We loaded the deck with a serious mixed bag—some beautiful Yellowfin Tuna, hard-fighting Blackfin, and perfectly sized Red Snapper. There is nothing like that feeling of a cold ice chest full of fresh Gulf bounty after a long day in the Delta.

The reopening applies to private recreational anglers and state charter vessels. Federally permitted charter vessels are not included and must follow federal seasons and regulations.

There is nothing quite like the silence of the Gulf before the first rod bends, followed by the chaos of a drag screaming. Captain Bob Kenney had Louis Petraglia out on the water today, and the offshore bite in Venice didn't disappoint.

We had a smooth run out of the pass this morning, and the conditions couldn't have been more cooperative. Louis put in the work on the deck, and we were rewarded with some absolute quality fish at the rigs. It is days like this that remind us why we call Venice home.

Great work today, Louis. Looking forward to getting you back out here soon for another round.

Louisiana’s recreational Red Snapper season will reopen for 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘀.

The recreational Red Snapper season closed had closed on August 9, 2026, based upon harvest estimates and projections at that time. Current LA Creel data shows that approximately 35,109 pounds, or 4%, of Louisiana’s 2026 private recreational allocation remains.

📅 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀/𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀:
▪️𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟮𝟳–𝟯𝟬
▪️𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟰–𝟳

The season will reopen at 12:01 a.m. on the first day of each period and close at 11:59 p.m. on the final day.

The reopening applies to 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 fishing in Louisiana state waters and federal waters off Louisiana.

⚠️This modification does not apply to federally permitted charter boats operating under federal law during federally established seasons and under federally established rules for those vessels.

🚫After Sept. 7, the recreational Red Snapper season will close until further notice.
