We are open, and service to Channel Islands National Park has not been disrupted.

The tsunami advisory for Ventura County was lifted early this (Wednesday) morning, and no damage or ill effects have been reported in the harbor or on the islands.

All trips will continue to run as scheduled.

During yesterday's whale watch, we came across a Humpback Whale repeatedly breaching. Our elation was short-lived when it was quickly determined that the whale was entangled in a fishing net.

We contacted the local entanglement team, who came out to attempt to free it. The good news is that by the time the full team arrived on-site, it appeared that the whale had freed itself.

These whales face many challenges during their migration, and not all stories have a happy ending. But we are sure glad this one did!

The island grasses are starting to brown up, but there are still plenty of wildflowers to add to the color palette.

57 years ago today, company founder Bill Connally was inspired with a vision to share the wonders of the Channel Islands by providing excursions to these remote offshore islands.

Early excursions took visitors out to just Anacapa on the weekends only, and now, three generations later, the company offers daily, year-round service to the National Park.

On the final day of , the is Walkup Songs. If you can't get to the islands themselves, you can walk up to the Lagomarsino Visitor's Center in or visit remotely through Channel Islands Live. There are live webcams and educational programs from underwater.
