904 Day with at Garden Club of Jacksonville, 1005 Riverside Ave., with a Small Business Showcase and Farmers & Flowers Market from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

After Hours at James Weldon Johnson Park, 135 W. Monroe St., with cocktails, mocktails and live music from Mr. Al Pete from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Also happening: 904 Day with Jax Melanin Market at 822 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. and a celebration at Riverfront Plaza.

I’M OBSESSED WITH THIS LITTLE GREEK TOWN!!!

Just north of Clearwater, there’s a little Greek town on Florida’s Gulf Coast where sponge boats still line the river and the docks feel more like a neighborhood hang than a tourist stop. Tarpon Springs grew out of Greek sponge divers who settled here in the early 1900s, and you can still feel that in the conversations on the docks, the music spilling out of open doors, and the family names on the signs.

Sponge boats loaded with natural sea sponges, docks stacked with nets, and a waterfront lined with spots serving gyros, grilled octopus, strong coffee, and way too many kinds of baklava. Every step along the Sponge Docks is Greek music in your ears, blue and white details in your photos, and the kind of day trip you end up talking about all summer.
