River Fest: We can't wait to see you on June 6th on the river!
LEXINGTON, KY - Due to continued high water levels and unsafe river conditions following this week’s rain, Bluegrass Greensource has made the decision to postpone our 5th annual Riverfest until next weekend in the interest of participant safety.
Riverfest will now take place on Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Clifton Boat Ramp (15 Old Clifton Rd, Versailles, KY).
Riverfest offers an opportunity for community members to get outside and enjoy everything the Kentucky River has to offer. Canoe Kentucky will provide free trials of various watercraft, including canoes and kayaks. Families are encouraged to come out and kick off their summer with children’s activities, information from local organizations and businesses, and fun on the water!
“Riverfest is a wonderful way to bring our community together to celebrate and connect with the Kentucky River,” says Amy Sohner, Executive Director of Bluegrass Greensource. “From trying out canoes and kayaks to engaging with local organizations and enjoying hands-on activities, this event invites people of all ages to experience the river in a meaningful and memorable way while learning how we can all play a role in protecting it.”
KY Riverfest is a free event and open to the general public. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Registration is not required. This year’s event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Kentucky River Authority and support from Woodford County Fiscal Court.
