We also make and sell crafts from Cardinal’s Nest Craft Shop located on the property. The Cornett Deal Christmas Tree farm offers a great place to enjoy your family tradition of choosing your perfect tree fresh from the farm. We also offer a great selection of decorated and undecorated wreaths. While visiting the farm be sure to check out the locally made crafts offered in the gift shop. And enjoy a cup of hot apple cider or hot coco.

Today's adventures include: 1. The inaugural tiny house has been installed at the farm, eliciting equal excitement from my great-granddaughters and myself as we watched it ascend the driveway. Emberlym persistently asked, “Can we go in now?” as she viewed it as an oversized playhouse ❤️❤️💕💕, and Dad felt compelled to investigate the commotion. 2. Ten jars of homemade muscadine grape pepper jelly are cooling on Mom's kitchen counter. 3. A root beer float is serving as my celebratory treat 😀😀😀

I have created a small flower garden in memory of my dear friend Ann, who collected zinnia and marigold seed pods last fall, and I am delighted to see these flowers blooming from those very seed pods. Ann was particularly fond of butterflies, and I was thrilled to capture photos of a couple of beautiful butterflies enjoying the nectar from her zinnias yesterday. The bees were also feasting, and upon closer inspection, you will notice them as well.

If you are planning to be in Blowing Rock for “Art in the Park” on August 16th, be sure to stop by and visit with Steve Sudderth and others who will be there representing the Watauga County Heritage Museum at our 2nd Pop-up Museum. Look for the museum banner and enjoy a brief history lesson along with all the beautiful crafts you will find.

Captured this a few days ago when out watering Mom’s flowers. Mom was watching from inside and laughing at me because I was trying to capture pictures of butterflies in flight. Not sure if they were fighting or dancing. I prefer the later thought.

Our Farm’s Story

The Cornett Deal Christmas Tree farm is owned and operated by Diane and her family. She purchased the property in 1986 and planted the first crop of Fraser Fir Christmas trees that spring due to the generosity of her father, Clint, who gave her the first 1000 transplants to begin her farming operation. She and her brother, Dale, also planted several thousand seedlings into line-out beds and later used those trees to transplant into all the fields that are now used for choose and cut.

The Cornett Deal Christmas Tree farm offers a great place to enjoy your family tradition of choosing your perfect tree fresh from the farm. We also offer a great selection of decorated and un-decorated wreaths. When visiting the farm be sure to check out the locally made crafts offered in the gift shop. And enjoy a cup of hot apple cider or hot coco.

In 2000, Diane had a small cabin built on the farm so that visitors can enjoy a stay at the farm anytime throughout the year. The farm is a welcoming place and we love all the visitors and customers that we have met through the years.
