☕️ COFFEE TALK — Dominican Coffee Edition 🇩🇴
As I sit here with my Dominican coffee and reflect on this week, one word comes to mind: fantastic.
So much learning. So many resorts. So many conversations and new connections. And I’m heading home with even more knowledge to bring back to my clients.
A few of my biggest takeaways…
1. I absolutely LOVE what I do. ❤️
I know this is what I was called to do. I thrive on talking with my clients, learning what matters to them, and matching them with the resort and experience that fits them. And frankly… I’m pretty good at it. 😉
2. There truly is a resort for everyone.
Some resorts this week completely exceeded my expectations. Others fell right where I expected them to. And that is exactly why these trips are so important.
Every resort doesn’t need to be perfect for everyone — it needs to be perfect for the right person.
Every property I walked through this week gave me another piece of knowledge that will help me plan the perfect getaway based on my clients’ budget, wants, needs and expectations.
3. When you travel, PACK YOUR PATIENCE. ✈️
Travel doesn’t always go exactly as planned. Flights change. Bags go missing. Things happen.
Your vacation experience has so much to do with your mindset and your willingness to go with the flow, adjust and look for the positive. Sometimes those unexpected moments even become part of the story.
4. You cannot truly understand a resort until you experience it.
A picture on your phone or a beautiful resort website can show you what a property looks like.
It cannot tell you what it feels like.
Is it quiet? Lively? Romantic? Huge? Walkable? Does the pool have music all afternoon? Is the beach actually beautiful? How far is that room category from the restaurants? What does the lobby feel like when you walk in? Who is going to LOVE this resort — and who probably won’t?
That is the information I want to bring to my clients.
My goal isn’t simply to find you a pretty resort online. It’s to take what I’ve personally seen, learned and experienced and match it with your expectations.
5. You can never stop learning.
The more I travel, tour, ask questions, meet with resort teams and experience destinations firsthand, the better I become at what I do. And this week has given me SO much information to bring home and share with my clients.
And finally…
6. No matter where you go, it’s who you travel through life with that matters most. ❤️
I made some wonderful connections this week with amazing travel advisors, supplier partners and resort staff. I’m incredibly grateful for every conversation, every lesson and every experience.
But now?
It’s time to go home.
Because as much as I love traveling the world and doing a job that I truly love… home is where my people are. ❤️
Punta Cana, you’ve been good to me. 🇩🇴
Now let’s get home. ✈️
