One of the things that really stands out at Mara Bushtops is the food- genuinely some of the best I’ve had anywhere in Africa.

This was a traditional Swahili prawn dish, part of a menu that gives guests the opportunity to try a variety of traditional East African cuisine alongside the lodge’s other offerings.

And the setting makes it even better. Lunch overlooks Mara Bushtops’ natural salt lick, where animals regularly wander throughout the day- so you can quite literally be enjoying lunch while watching wildlife just beyond your table.

A lot of the fresh produce also comes straight from the Mara Bushtops garden, making the dining experience feel even more connected to its surroundings 🌿🦒🍽️

Maxa by Ker & Downey Botswana offers a wonderfully secluded setting where the waterways and surrounding wilderness become a major part of the stay. Guests can head out by boat, try their hand at fishing, or explore the channels by mokoro- all with a real sense of having this remote corner of Botswana to themselves.
