🌿 Join Our Fall Farm Crew! Help us grow veggies & enjoy the Driftless this season

✅ Farm Crew: 32-40 hrs/week, late Aug–Oct

We’re a certified organic veggie farm growing 40+ different crops for our CSA and farmers markets in Wabasha & Hopkins. You’ll help with seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, packing — plus caring for laying hens, composting, and more. Work rain or shine with a crew of hardworking, nature-loving folks. It’s a great way to be outside, eat tasty food, and join a wonderful little community tied to both the farm and Broken Paddle Guiding.

We’re looking for team players who enjoy physical outdoor work, learn fast, and bring a positive attitude (loving veggies helps too!).

📌 For all the details, check out our website.
✉️ To apply, email your cover letter, resume, and 2 references to [email protected]. Position open until filled.

🌊 Want to help the Mississippi River — and maybe win some cool gear? 🌊

Our friends at 1 Mississippi are running a special Refer-a-Friend Giveaway to grow their awesome community of River Citizens — everyday folks who care about the health of the river and want to take action.

✅ Sign up (or invite a friend to sign up!) here: www.mississippiriver.org/refer
✅ Mention who referred you — and they're entered to win Patagonia bags, Sven saws, river books, and more!

Why sign up? Because the river needs more people looking out for it — and when you do, you’ll get connected to action alerts, events, and ways to make a difference. Let’s grow this river community together.

🛶 Giveaway closes June 30, so don’t wait!

We love the sound of those dinosaurs!

It almost sounds like dinosaurs flying over the lake—Sandhill Cranes, calling as they lift from farm fields and wetlands. A reminder of the wild beauty that thrives in and around Lake Pepin. 🐦🌾🌊

On a calm and cloudy day the river is a gorgeous mirror, the songbirds remind us that spring will come. Despite all the chaos, we hold steadfast to the power of our communities to rise up for what is good and just. We try to still find time to admire and celebrate what is around us, grounding in the power of the natural world that keeps fighting and the power of life to continue despite all odds.

Species Spotlight! The Kentucky Coffee tree is taking center stage here in this landscape shot with the bluffs glowing in the distance and this glorious river. Its identifiable seed pods (they're what is hanging on the branches in the photo) mimic a pea pod, but don't eat them because the seeds and pods are poisonous! Gynocladus dioicus is its latin name, it is native to the midwest but also common in parks and a popular tree to put in cities. Get stunning views and fun facts like these when you take a tour with us! We will be starting things soon in May, so get out your calendar and figure out when you're going to get down here to enjoy all that this part of the Driftless has to offer!
