Travel too fast and you miss all you are traveling for.” – Louis L’Amour

I believe in travel.
I believe that travel can provide benefits to body, mind, and soul. (Emphasis on “can” … it is not guaranteed… it depends on the heart of the traveler.)
I can’t list all the incentives to travel, but regardless of the motivation, there will be benefits above and beyond your objective/s… benefits you did not anticipate… IF… as Louis L’Amour said, you do not “travel too fast and (you) miss all you are traveling for.”
I have had been blessed with more opportunities to travel than most, and I have always found each trip to have blessed me in some way, large or small. But I recently completed a journey which marked several “firsts” for me.
• It was my first trip of over 14 days.
• It was the first time, in many years, that I did not pack my laptop to respond to emails and other business issues.
• And it was the first time I attempted to maintain a journal… a “ships log”… of the journey.
I recommend considering adding all three of these elements to your travels when and if possible…
but especially the journaling exercise. I think you, like me, will find it very beneficial in the effort to not “travel too fast.” And if you are not clear on “what you are traveling for,” it will help you with identify that as well.
So, this is my introduction to my journaling exercise. I hope you don’t mind me sharing this with you over the next few days.
