What’s that saying? Sometimes you miss the forest through the trees.
In this case, sometimes you miss the little details while looking at the forest overall. Enjoy the details. There’s a lot of tiny beauty in the landscape, and the Allegheny National Forest is a perfect example.

Do you know you can explore an 1800s icehouse in Warren County?
Located off Dunns Eddy in Irvine in the Allegheny National Forest, the icehouse was part of the Irvine-Newbold Estate. It was part of the land claimed by General William Irvine, who surveyed this part of the country and founded what is now Warren County. Want more information? Visit the Wilder Museum of Warren County History where an entire exhibit room is dedicated to the estate. The Wilder opens for the season after Memorial Day. And, even better, you can take a guided tour of the grounds on July 30th. 👉 https://www.warrenhistory.org/2025%20Events/Irvine%20Newbold%20Tour%20Poster%202025.jpeg.jpg
