On Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th a contingent of 19 youth bowlers from the Warren Bowling Association competed in the Buckeye State Youth Championships presented by the Ohio State USBC. The State Youth Championships were hosted by Holiday Lanes in Columbus, Ohio during a two weekend tournament. Our youth bowlers competed in singles, doubles and team events. For the team event the WBA pays the entry fees of the three winning teams in the Youth Warren City tournament held in October of 2025. All three division team winners were excited to use this free entry and make the trip to Columbus.
Competing in Division B was the team of Julianna Anderson, Braden Silvers, Nick Litzinger and Ben Kumar. Julianna with a 174 average bowled a 552 series that included two 193 games. Braden Silvers with a 175 average rolled a 576 series (209, 184, 183). Ben Kumar with a 183 average shot a 638 series that included games of 246 and 219.
In the doubles event Julianna, fresh off of winning the Warren Junior Masters, continued her great bowling shooting a 601 series that included games of 194 and 247. Julianna continued her outstanding bowling in the singles events bowling a 570 series with a 222 game. Nick rolled two 189 games in singles action. In the doubles event Braden bowled a 631 series (221, 210, 200). In singles Ben bowled a 562 series that included a 214 game.
Competing in Division C was the team of Mackenzie Badanjek, Chrysafina Killias, Riley Davis and Shelby Badanjek. With a 122 average Mackenzie bowled games of 150 and 154. Chrysafina with a 145 average bowled a 179 game. Riley Davis with a 154 average was on fire bowling games of 180, 203 and 200 (583).
Competing in Division D was the team of Jasmine Hartzell, Selena Polois, Liam Simunich and Lilly Clover. Jasmine with a 127 average bowled a 173 game. Selena with a 97 average rolled a 160 game. Liam with a 106 average bowled a 378 series (112, 127, 139). Lilly Clover with a 59 average bowled an 81 game.
Also competing in Division D and paying their own entries was the team of Gabriel Dorazio, Addy English, Gabby Wajda and Chucky Edgar. With a 93 average Gabe bowled a 377 series (139, 112, 126). Addy with a 79 average bowled games of 96 and 95. Gabby with a 77 average bowled 130 and 94 games. Chucky with a 109 average bowled a 422 series (116, 135, 171). In the doubles event Chucky and Gabe continued their hot bowling. Chucky rolled a 435 set with a 162 game and Gabe bowled a 371 set with a 146 game. Addy and Gabby also bowled great doubles games. Addy bowled 91 and 112 games and Gabby bowled a 375 set (159, 93, 123). Both girls bowled well in the singles events with Gabby rolling two 104 games and Addy bowling a 96 game. Chucky and Gabe were also strong in the singles event. Gabe had a 355 series (107, 112, 136). Chucky bowled a 413 series (148, 122, 143).
Bowling in the Division D doubles event were the team of Alexis Clover and Ben Clover. With a 97 average Alexis bowled 115 and 122 games. Also competing in the singles event was Kane Brown. All these 19 youth bowlers represented the WBA well with their good bowling, good bowling etiquette and great sportsmanship.
Final results should be posted in the next few weeks with winners receiving money in their SMART accounts.
