Smith Tours last day in Ireland was a busy one. We began the day with a city tour of Dublin, followed by a walking tour and pint of Guinness at the Guinness Brewery. The afternoon was spent in the shopping district before going back to the castle to prepare our luggage for travel the following morning. We had a beautiful farewell dinner featuring a harp and flute performance during appetizers, dinner, and dessert. What a great way to end our ten day tour. We will be looking into our next possible over seas trip for possibly 2028!

Ireland-Day 7... We left Galway Bay Hotel this morning to visit the most famous monastic site in Ireland, Clonmacnoise. We had a guided tour among the ruins along the River Shannon. After a drive through the country, we stopped for lunch with several choices, including a McDonald's, Subway, and a cafeteria. Some of us tried McDonald's to see if there were any differences. We found a few things on the menu that we don't have, but it was mostly the same, including a kiosk to order. Next, we went to the world's oldest bar, Sean's Bar and learned the history of it. While listening on our Vox Box, we enjoyed a choice of beverages. Early this evening, we arrived back where we began our trip, Dublin. Our hotel is called Clontarf Castle and has a variety of room styles. We are definitely going to enjoy two nights here before flying home on Friday.

Monday, Day 5 in Ireland we left Adare and stopped at the Cliffs of Moehr. The wind was brisk and the walk was steep, but the views were well worth the trek. After warming up with coffee and of course, the gift shop, we continued on to a sheep heading demonstration and lunch. We learned a lot about sheep dogs and watched them take the sheep in several different locations as commanded. Our last stop for the day was is Galway where we are staying in a very nice hot, Galway Bay Hotel, right along the beach. This is a two night stay. After a white linen dinner, we had the evening to explore the town.

Day 6 - We left early this morning to visit Kylemore Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery founded on the grounds of Kyle ore Castle. After visiting the castle, we had a guided tour of the Victorian Walled Garden. Lunch was enjoyed in the café on the grounds. Our surprise stop this afternoon was a beautiful Catholic Church on the way back to our hotel. The rest of the evening is ours to explore on our own. Only two more days in Ireland before we have to say goodbye.

On Sunday, we left Killarney and drove to Adare. The scenery today was what you might imagine for Ireland. Absolutely incredible. We made several stops along our narrow road to take in the view. Our first stop was at a unique jewelry store that opened just for us, since it was Sunday. We made it worth their time, lol. We spent some time in Di**le and had lunch there before moving on to our comfortable hotel for the night. Dinner was in the hotel dining room featuring a four course meal. We are definitely being spoiled on this trip with all of the great hotels, food, and a bus driver that is "making our trip".

Here are a few more pictures from our Ring of Kerry tour and our evening in Killarney. We are on our way to Di**le this morning. Our bus driver is doing a great job on these very narrow roads while giving us Ireland history and information constantly. This is a very educational trip.

Our day 3 morning drive has been great! The Ring of Kerry and Di**le Penninsula are something to see! We stopped this morning for an Irish coffee as well. Most of us had never had one but I'm sure it won't be our last before we head home. Friday. Lunch is over and now we are on the way for an ice cream stop! We are spoiled. Carriage ride this afternoon and pub time and Irish music this evening with maybe a little shopping thrown in there!

Ireland Day 3- After our walking tour of Waterford, we took off for the Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney stone. Did you know there really isn't a stone you kiss, it was just the wall of the castle? It was over 150 spiral steep steps to the top, then you had to lay down on your back and bend way over to reach the wall. It was a great experience though. You can't go to Ireland and not kiss the Blarney stone! Lunch was at the castle area before a little shopping at the Woolen Mill. We then left for the Plaza Hotel in Killarney. After a delicious group dinner, we ended our evening at a Galic show with singing and dancing. It was a memorable day. This morning we are off to the Ring of Kerry and a horse drawn carriage ride this afternoon. Afterwards, we are free to explore this beautiful town!

Smith Tours made it to Ireland with all 77 passengers on Thursday morning. We hit the ground running like zombies after flying all night. Our first stop was a Stud farm for a short tour and lunch. Then we traveled to Waterford for a tour of the Waterford Crystal Factory. It was truly amazing to see the process used to create each beautiful piece. Some of our crew even bought crystal to have shipped home. After checking into our hotel down the street, we had a bit of time to get organized before an included dinner at their restaurant. We were all anxious to get back to our rooms for a shower and early bedtime. It's amazing how refreshed everyone is this morning. We have already had an informative tour of Waterford this morning and are on our way to the Cobh Heritage Center then on to the Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney stone. It's a beautiful day in Ireland!

Smith Tours is requesting prayers for Kerri and her family. Kerri's mom, Letha Cisna, passed away yesterday afternoon surrounded by her family. Day four of the mystery trip... This morning we left Indianapolis and went to Lafayette, IN to Inspire Glass where they demonstrated the art of making glass products. Many, many beautiful pieces were found throughout their shop. After spending two hours there and mny purchases, we left for Nine Irish Brothers pub for an awesome lunch. They were ready for us, served huge portions, and took care of all 78 of us in a little over an hour! Impressive. Next, we visited an old time candy store where we were treated to Doc Holidays and Shirley Temples along with a delicious box of chocolates. We also were given a short tour of the Long Center where concerts are held and listen to their pipe organ while drinking our drinks from the candy store. After checking in to the Drury Plaza, we left for Delphi, IN and toured the Delphi Opera House that has been restored. Afterwards, we had a buffet dinner and the best entertainment of the trip. Jeffery Bowen Played piano and took requests from our group. He played a solid hour and a half and was fantastic. He had 78 people singing, laughing, and clapping along. What a great way to end our time in Indiana. We will head back to Missouri in the morning with another mystery stop along the way!
