Day 3- Nashville/Franklin - Today we began with a three hour step-on singing guided tour of Nashville. It was definitely a fun way to see and learn about Nashville with Dave and Daphne. They have become special friends of Smith Tours. After a quick lunch, we dropped everyone off at the Johnny Cash Museum and Broadway for two hours to explore the h***y tonks. We heard a lot of music in that short time. The afternoon schedule was altered due to our next guide being ill. Our local guide took over the afternoon and took us to many places around Nashville that we hadn't seen yet like Studio B, the Parthenon, and Marathon Motorworks. We ended our day with a BBQ dinner at Puckett's. Our entertainer/step on guide was able to get us a replacement singer for our evening entertainment. He took many requests from our group and did a great job on two hours notice.

We have had a very busy two days in Nashville and will return home tomorrow evening. Our travel year is getting close to being over, with only a sold out Branson Christmas trip and a couple of dinner theater trips. We have been blessed with another busy travel season. Now it is time to get the rest of the 2027 trips completed and published.

Day 2-We are in Nashville and Franklin. What a Tuesday we had! We began our day in Franklin with a step on guide who took us on a two hour fascinating tour of local Civil War history. She kept us all entertained and we learned a lot about the area. After spending some time downtown in Franklin for lunch and a bit of shopping, we went out to the Canton House, which became a field hospital during the war. Many of our passengers were impressed with the knowledge of our guides. It was a great stop.

We had time to run back to the Drury to change clothes and get ready for the Grand Ole Opry! We stopped at Santa Fe Cattle Company for a huge dinner then went across the street for an incredible night of music. Rhett Atkins became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The lineup last night was one the whole town was talking about! Those in attendance were Rhett Atkins, Jamey Johnson, Jason Aldean, Jon Pardi, LUKE BRYAN, and Thomas Rhett. What a fun night at the Opry!

Today is another full 12-hour day in Nashville. So much to do!

We are nonstop! Our second bus arrived home safely yesterday from the NE Fall Foliage Tour and another group left for a Nashville/Franklin tour for four days!

We arrived at Drury Inn in Nashville in time to get settled before leaving for dinner at Paula Deens. We were entertained for an hour by Dave and Daphne and an up and coming Riley Berry. Be watching for this name on American Idol in the next couple of years. She is only 15, but is already amazing! Dave played lead guitar for Barbara Mandrel for many years. He is something else!

This morning, we took off for a guided tour of Franklin, which is already very interesting with Civil War history and a lot of information about all of the TV shows and movies that have been made here.

Tonight... The Grand Ole Opry! What a line up we have. More to come!

BUS #2 Day 11
Yesterday was a somber day as we visited the Flight 93 Memorial. We all remember exactly where we were that infamous day. The wind chimes were siging for the 40 passengers lost.

Bus #2-Day 10
We headed back west today. A bittersweet moment with realizing our trip is coming to an end. What an amazing group of people we have had to travel with. Tonight, we checked into Hotel Carlisle. We enjoyed a pizza dinner and some yummy Cinnabons to celebrate the birthdays we have had on this trip.

Bus #2- Day 9
Today we traveled to Province Town with a step on guide leading our way. First stop was the Chatham Lighthouse, where we visited a working lighthouse, operated today by the US Coast Guard. Second stop was a very informative Salt Pond Visitor Center. A quick movie taught us about the early radio waves and how they were first sent to England. Lunch in Ptown before a sand dune excursion that ended our time with our step on guide. Lastly, we enjoyed an amazing meal at Yarmouth House. A wonderful singer entertained us through dinner. Then ending with a dance or two...

Day 12- Bus #1 - We are on the way home today after another comfortable night at Drury Inn & Suites in Dayton. Yesterday, we made a stop at the Flight 93 Memorial. It's always a somber visit, but it's a place that can never be forgotten. We witnessed a lot of FBI agents present as they were getting ready for a ceremony and the arrival of a very important official. We were happy to leave before the roads were blocked off!
After a long day of driving yesterday, and not wanting much for dinner, a stop at Buccees hit the spot for everyone!

We have met many new people on this trip these twelve days. As one gentleman told me this morning, "You all just make us feel like we are family." That has been the goal for Smith Tours for almost 30 years now. We always think the group we have at the present time is the best one we have ever had, and those with us now, are at the top of our list again. Wow! We look forward to seeing a few of them again when we leave again Monday morning and head to Nashville for two full days of touring when we arrive, as well as an incredible Grand Ole Opry lineup. We have been blessed in many ways!

Bus #2, Day 8
Today was a very busy day. We started with a great breakfast at our hotel, then went to Woods Hole to board the ferry for Martha's Vineyard. Spending the day learning about the "Camp", now gingerbread type houses, to the stars/celebrities living on or having houses on the island. We learned a lot of the history from our step on guide. After the ferry ride back, we were spoiled with an amazing Italian meal.
