Day 5 of South Dakota took us through the Badlands. What a beautiful drive with many opportunities to pull off and take it all in. We saw many antelope, buffalo, deer, and prairie dogs today. The pictures we took are not nearly as beautiful as the actual scenery. Of course, you can't go to South Dakota without stopping at Wall Drug! Our afternoon rest stop was just over the Missouri River at the Dignity statue. Our final meal tonight was at Texas Roadhouse, which never disappoints. We have really appreciated our driver and the way she fits in with our group. She is always caring, helpful, and feels like part of the Smith Tours family. Thank you Christie!

Day 4- South Dakota
We had another full day of activity beginning at an alpaca farm. The owners were great at answering questions and letting everyone feed their alpacas. Then we went into Rapid City to the Black Hills Gold Factory for a tour and a chance to buy some beautiful jewelry. It was really interesting watching the process they have to go through to make each piece. They really liked our group as we spent a little money with them! After lunch, we went to the Museum Of Geology and had a tour from two guides who really new their paleontology and mineral history. Later this afternoon, we went to downtown Rapid City where some of the group participated in a president scavenger hunt. They have all of the past president's statues located on their street corners. The surprise stop afterwards was a visit to Chapel in the Hills which was a beautiful chapel from Scandinavia. This was a great way to end our day of activities before dinner. After dinner we participated in a Trivia Contest that none of us did very well in. It was fun though and ended our long day in Rapid City. Tomorrow we head out to the Badlands and will make a stop at Wall Drug.

Day 3 of South Dakota. Where do we start?? It has been a very busy day of touring with an incredible step-on guide. Sharon was full of history and information about USA Bear Country animals, Custer's State Park, and Crazy Horse as well as information about all the little towns around Rapid City. She was a blessing today! We have seen so many animals today, so we have to share some of our favorites. Another day ended with many laughs at our buffet dinner at Laughing Waters, how appropriate! This group is really enjoying each other's company and we are loving it!

Day 2 of the South Dakota trip has been a at the Corn Palace. The murals were outstanding. The wind and the rain came as we traveled to Rapid City. The clouds were interesting to watch as well as many humorous billboards along the way. We stopped at a scenic overlook for a break after lunch at Al's Oasis. We saw antelope and prairie dogs along our route today and will see many more animals tomorrow. After checking in, we went to Fort Hayes and watched a tin maker create plates and a rope maker create a rope from toilet paper. A chuckwagpn dinner was had followed by a fun hour of music by the Rockin Wranglers. Elvis loved our tables and sang to many of those in our group. We ended our evening with a lot of laughs. Tomorrow is a full day of activity!

Day two was a full day of activity! The tour at Hermann Farms was very informative and we enjoyed the wonderful weather. Our trolley took us back into town for some shopping and lunch at Wurst Haus before catching the train to St. Louis. After finding our motor coach at Union Station, some o fus rose to the top of the Gateway Arch while the rest of the group enjoyed the museum. We watched the movie showing the making of the arch before leaving to check in at the Drury Inn at Union Station. After dinner, we went to a Game Show Room and had two teams compete for the big trophy. This was a new experience that we highly recommend. Tomorrow we will end our St. Louis time with a couple more activities before going home tired! We have another wonderful group this week and have met several new people we hope to see again!

Day two of the mystery trip has begun. Yesterday, we took the Amtrak train from Warrensburg to Hermann. We had about a 45 minute delay due to an accident ahead of us on the tracks. We were still able to get in a couple of wine tastings before checking into Crown Suites for the night. A pizza party was enjoyed followed by a games how featuring each of our travelers. This warm sunny morning, we are touring Hermann Farms. The rest of the day still remains a mystery!
