👇 Traffic Impacts on I-71 Northbound in Gallatin County 👇
A ramp closure on I-71 northbound will begin at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.
🚧 Crews will close the I-71 northbound off-ramp to Exit 55 (KY 1039). During the closure, crews will perform ramp work, including milling and paving operations, ramp widening and shoulder work.
Due to the scope of work, the ramp will be closed continuously for an extended period during this phase of the project. A signed detour will be in place utilizing I-71 northbound to Exit 57 (KY 35/Sparta Pike) to I-71 southbound to Exit 55 (KY 1039).
Weather permitting, the ramp closure is expected to remain in place through Sunday, Sept. 6. Additional updates will be provided if more time is needed to complete the work.
🚧Additionally, a single lane closure on I-71 northbound between Exit 55 and Exit 57 will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, to allow crews to adjust the barrier wall. The single lane closure is expected to be removed by 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24.
➡ As the new ramp closure begins Sunday night, two ramps that have been closed since Sun., Aug. 9, will reopen:
✅ Exit 55 (KY 1039) on-ramp to I-71 northbound
✅ I-71 northbound off-ramp to Exit 57 (KY 35/Sparta Pike)
This work is being performed as part of the ongoing I-71 widening project on an approximately 4.59 mile portion of I-71 in Gallatin and Carroll counties.
