Grooming update
217 has been consistently groomed since we received enough snow to get out on the trail with our equipment. We are still in early season riding conditions here, so expect to see thin corners, sticks, rocks, etc in some portions of trails. Slow down! We are using all the snow we have available to do the best we can, but we can’t make more snow.
17 (copper mine)
We decided to open 17 this morning. (Official notification will be on Douglas County Forestry page when they are able to post)
The creek beds, etc have froze up nicely so the groomers spent the last few days out there getting things packed down. Again, early riding conditions: slow down, thin corners, expect some sticks and rocks. There is logging operations happening about 1 mile in from Hwy 27, so take note.
*We were extremely disappointed to see the snowmobile traffic on 17 before it was even open. Make sure you know what trails are open. It’s your responsibility.
All Douglas County Clubs post openings/closures/trail conditions as things change or at least weekly to The Douglas County Forestry Department. Douglas County Forestry will post the updates on their page so that is the page to check to get the latest news.
Douglas County Forestry has the new park and ride located just off Wild Rivers Corridor (County Rd Y - right in town of Gordon) all plowed out and ready for vehicles and trailers. (See photo)
