D.C. Bhangra Crew (DCBC) is an all female competitive independent bhangra team based in the DMV area Metropolitan area. Keep checking back for updates!

Bhangra Crew (DCBC) is an all-female Bhangra dance team representing the D.C. DCBC consists of first and second-generation students and individuals who seek to further explore the rich and vibrant culture of Punjab through the lens of performing arts. We aim to be an example of equality within a circuit that is traditionally male-dominated. Bhangra Crew was formed by a group of girls from George W

ashington University in late 2008. DCBC gave it's debut performance as a competitive bhangra team at Apna Virsa Apna Punjab (AVAP) in April 2009. The team has expanded to include girls from all over the D.C. Metropolitan Area and has continued to spread their love of Bhangra to the local community and beyond. Despite coming from different schools, dance backgrounds, and styles, the members of DCBC have worked together for the past years to promote a team of unity, collaboration, diversity, and traditionality and hope to continue doing so for years to come. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend and for having us.

This weekend couldn’t have been possible without the 14 outstanding dancers who put in so much effort into this set. They deserve every ounce of credit for the trophy we were lucky enough to bring home! We also want to congratulate the other teams who placed this weekend for killer performances .

Our team is built in those who support us so we have many so many people to thank! Thank you to the set design crew .rajpal for creating and taking the time to put together a GREAT set. Thank you to our djs and for making a mix that goes so hard. Thank you for putting together an intro video and backdrop seamlessly! Thank you to our AWESOME liasions- we appreciate you all so much. Lastly, thank you to the groupies, and significant others who support us without hesitation, we love you the most!

💥TRYOUT FOR DCBC 💥 DC’s all woman/woman-identifying Bhangra team, is officially having tryouts this summer!!! There are no in person tryouts this year -everything is COMPLETELY virtual. Tryouts are also ROLLING, this means the sooner you tryout the sooner you get a decision. The deadline to tryout is July 15th 11:59 PM.
