Your mission, if you choose to accept it, may be to locate various espionage sites in Arlington, Washington, and Georgetown; observe the former café where a Soviet spy escaped from his CIA handlers; listen in on a briefing about Civil War espionage at Lafayette Park; tour the Berlin Wall at the Newseum; and/or visit drop points used by agents such as FBI spy Robert Hanssen. has been the scene of international intrigue, espionage, and intelligence activity, as the U.S. government has tried to learn the plans of other countries while keeping its own plans secret. Key players in this non-ending drama include personalities as diverse as Rose Greenhow, Herbert Yardley, Major General “Wild Bill” Donovan, Aldrich Ames, and Robert Hanssen. This six-hour bus tour will introduce you to many of the locations in and around Washington that have been associated with intelligence and counter intelligence activities for the past two hundred years. Optional stop at International Spy Museum not included in price. Group tours start at $65 from the DC Metro area and $80 per person from Richmond / Baltimore Metro area with 30 person minimum. Costs increase for a private lunch and or visit to the International Spy Museum.

8:00 Depart on deluxe coach bus from Richmond pick up location.
10:00 Depart on deluxe coach bus from DC pick up location.
10:00 – 11:30 Bus tour of espionage sites in Arlington, Washington, and Georgetown.
11:30 – 11:45 Rest/coffee stop.
11:45 – 1:00 Continue tour, discussing famous espionage cases from the Civil War through the Cold War.
*1:30 Return to DC pick up location.
*3:30 Return to Richmond pick up location. Add-On’s
1:00 – 2:00 Lunch option.
1:00 – 3:00 Optional stop at International Spy Museum or similar venue.

This charter bus tour will introduce you to many of the locations in and around Washington that have been associated with intelligence and counterintelligence activities for the past two hundred years. Some walking is required.

Cost is $160 per person that includes $25 for a membership in the Shepard Center of Richmond.

Schedule:
7:30 – 9:30 Pick up from Shepard Center of Richmond and drive to Washington, DC
9:30 – 12:00 Bus tour of espionage sites in Arlington, Washington, and Georgetown
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch on your own at food court below International Spy Museum
1:00 – 3:00 Tour International Spy Museum.
3:00 – 5:30 Return to pick up location
