CORTONA – the Tuscan dream you've already seen on screen. ☀️
If Cortona feels familiar, there's a reason…

🎬 This is where Under the Tuscan Sun was filmed.

Walking through these streets truly feels like stepping into a movie scene. Golden light spilling over ancient stone buildings, quiet alleyways, flower-filled balconies, and that magical Tuscan atmosphere that makes you slow down and simply breathe.

One of the most memorable moments from the movie is when Frances wanders through Cortona and slowly begins to build a new life for herself. The town itself becomes a character — reminding us that sometimes the best things happen when we stop rushing and allow life to surprise us.

Cortona isn't about checking landmarks off a list.

It's about sipping an espresso in a hidden piazza, getting lost on purpose, and watching the sunset over the Tuscan hills.

Some places you visit.

Others stay with you forever.

Cortona is one of them. ❤️

📍 Have you seen Under the Tuscan Sun? Would Cortona be on your Tuscany bucket list?

Most people come to Montepulciano for the w**e. Few realize they're walking through 2,700 years of history to get their glass of Vino Nobile. 🍷
This hill town was an Etruscan settlement before Rome was Rome. The stones under your feet in Piazza Grande have watched Etruscans, Romans, medieval Sienese, and Florentine nobles all fight over this same ridge — because whoever controlled Montepulciano controlled the road between two rival republics.
My husband's family has stories about these streets that no guidebook will ever print. That's the part of Tuscany I try to give my clients — not just where to stand for the photo, but why the ground beneath them matters.
Want the real, unfiltered version of Montepulciano — the w**e cellars carved into Etruscan tufa, the family-run trattorias, the palazzo nobody puts on postcards? Comment "TUSCANY" and I'll send you the itinerary. 🇮🇹

She was found at a landfill in Hungary. 🇭🇺
Now she walks through Tuscany like she owns it. 🇮🇹

Cuvée is my rescue dog, my travel companion, and honestly — my whole heart. When we moved to the US, there was never a question. She comes with us. Always.

We made her a service dog so we’d never have to leave her behind. Best decision we ever made.

And to every American dog parent dreaming of Italy —

Bring. Your. Dog.

Italy will welcome them like family. Restaurants, vineyards, cobblestone piazzas — dogs are not just tolerated, they are adored. The Italians will probably love your dog more than they love you. 😂

No guilt. No kennels. No FaceTime-ing your dog from across the ocean.

Just you, your pup, and the Tuscan countryside. 🐾

From a landfill in Hungary to the hills of Tuscany — if Cuvée can do it, so can yours.

The best Florence moments are unplanned ones. This staircase, this panino, this five minutes of doing absolutely nothing — that’s the Italy people don’t post enough.

🍕 POV: You learn pizza’s story spans millennia – much more than just NYC slices and delivery apps! 🌍✨ Ready for a tasty history bite?

Ancient roots: Every culture around the Mediterranean had its own flatbread. In fact, “flatbreads with toppings were consumed by the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks,” long before modern pizza was born.
Naples staple: By the 1700–1800s, Naples’s poor (the “lazzaroni”) relied on simple street-food pizzas for a cheap meal. Vendors even carried wood-fired ovens through the alleys to sell hot pies on the go.
Margherita legend: The famous tale goes that in 1889 Queen Margherita of Savoy had a pizza baked with tomato (red), mozzarella (white) and basil (green), and loved it so much it was named for her. Modern historians are skeptical – researchers find no contemporary reports of this royal pizza party, and suspect the “thank you” letter may have been forged. (In reality, tomato-and-mozzarella pies existed in Naples before 1889.)
Tomatoes & cheese: These ingredients were not always on pizza. After Columbus, tomatoes (a New World plant) slowly won over Neapolitans. Likewise, medieval buffalo herds in Campania enabled fresh mozzarella. By the 19th century Naples had its signature pizza toppings.
UNESCO honor: In 2017 UNESCO recognized the “Art of Neapolitan Pizzaiuolo” (the craft of the pizza maker) as Intangible Cultural Heritage, celebrating Naples’ age-old pizza tradition.
Global pizza: Italian immigrants brought pizza to the world. For example, Gennaro Lombardi opened New York’s first licensed pizzeria in 1905. After WWII the pie exploded in popularity – American chains (like Domino’s and Pizza Hut) now operate in about 60 countries.
From ancient focaccia to the Margherita myth, each slice of pizza carries history. What’s your favorite pizza fact or story? Share below! 😋🍕
