The Washington Island Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to Door County's only year-round island community and the largest of Door County's thirty islands with over 35 beautiful square miles and over 100 miles of roads to explore and enjoy. Your journey to Washington Island begins as you drive or walk onto the ferry and enjoy a scenic five mile route over crystal blue waters with views of the surrounding islands rocky shores, lush forests, and the serenity that you're seeking in your every day life. You're on "Island Time" now and your hectic pace becomes a distant memory and meaningful "enjoyment" begins.

Step back in time at the Washington Island Farm Museum!

Explore nine lovingly restored farm buildings filled with historic tools, machinery, household items and displays that tell the story of island farm life from the late 1800s into the early 1900s. You’ll even find a furnished log cabin and a few small farm animals along the way.

It’s a wonderful stop for families, history lovers, or anyone curious about Washington Island’s agricultural roots. The museum is open daily through Columbus Day, and donations are appreciated.

We can't believe it's almost fall! We're switching to our fall schedule starting Tuesday, Sept. 8 ⛴️ 🍁

The Washington Island Ferry will depart on the hour to the mainland starting at 7 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. The ferry will also make trips to the island hourly, starting at 8 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m.

Light up the night on Washington Island!

Join us at the Washington Island Baseball Field on Main Road for the Island Fireworks, sponsored by the Washington Island Fire Department. The show begins at dusk, around 8:30 PM.

Free-will donations are appreciated, and firefighters will be passing the boot to help support the fireworks display!

A peaceful summer day at Little Lake, Washington Island’s only inland lake.

Fun fact: Little Lake was formed thousands of years ago when waves created a cobblestone ridge that separated it from Lake Michigan. Today, it remains a beautiful spot to slow down, explore and enjoy a little piece of Island history.
