Tilted Cottage

Tilted Cottage Fully renovated cottage in the historic district of Washington, NC. Walk to downtown and the waterfront. We are pet friendly!

Built in 1920, the Cottage had been thoroughly renovated in 2017. We enjoyed a good year getting started until the Cottage was almost destroyed in 2018 by Hurricane Florence. It took a year and a half to raise and rebuild the property and we were happy to open for business again in early 2020. Many upgrades were added including granite countertops, on-demand hot water and new plank flooring throug

hout. Central heat and central air conditioning make this a comfortable home year-round. It is an easy walk to downtown Washington where everyone can enjoy the beautiful waterfront, shopping, restaurants and bars. The cottage sits on a large lot with plenty of off street parking.

The full moon beckons you to join us Saturday night, October 28, and Tuesday night, October 31, for our Halloween ghost walks.

We meet both of those nights at 7:30 to sell tickets for the 8:00 walks. Our October 28 walk will be our wildly popular Traditional Walk which features stops at the old courthouse, St. Peter’s graveyard, and the old houses on Water Street, to name a few.

On Halloween night, we will hold our Downtown West Side walk, featuring stops outside the Turnage Theater, the old Bank of Washington, Brown Library, and more.

$20/person. Cash only. No advance reservations. Ticket sales are limited to the first 50 people.

We hope you’ll join us on Washington Haunts!

A bear was spotted in Festival Park early Wednesday morning (Sept. 6). Thankfully, it was just the new statue honoring the legacy late Mayor Mac Hodges left on the City of Washington. The statue is located at Mac “Bear” Hodges Festival Park (119 Water Street) next to the children’s playground....
