Happy to say I helped shut this “AK Guide”down and survived this chapter of my journey.

In 2023, soon after my Dad passed with a short battle with cancer, he sought me out and, not knowing he was what he is, I agreed to work a moose season for him. I have always been a successful 1 on 1 guide, rarely 2 on 1 guide, not 100% but close. He sent me 6 hunters with 1 other guide. I sent 4 of them back and did all I could to assist the hunters that chose to stay and make the best of a bad situation. I persevered despite accomplishing a pretty good ankle injury.

I was burned like everyone else and had incurred significant losses and had to pay my own way home.

He has given every courageous, hard-working real Alaskan Guide a black eye. I consider myself fortunate to have had a hand in getting him put out of business.

I walked away with was a taped ankle and a story. That year, the only moose my packers tagged that season last hours of last day. At least I brought home some moose meat. For all it’s worth, my reputation has taken a beating, battered, bruised but still preserved and wiser.🪶🙏🏽

Glenn C. Elliott is an Alaskan of Yup’k heritage, born and raised in Bethel on the banks of the Kuskokwim river in western Alaska.
Amauq means ”to Carry” as in pack. It also has a deeper meaning, referring to those who carried us, Our” Great-grandparents”. Having grown up hunting and fishing, he has insights few but well-seasoned Alaskan Guides can deliver. Glenn has guided since 2003, and has since used it as a way to explore many remote reaches of Alaska.

At present I offer hunts in Alaska of Yukon Moose, Grizzly, Black bear, Wolf, Brown bear, Mountain Goat and Caribou.
Whichever experience you desire, whether it is hunting, fishing, bear-viewing or just vacationing, it is my professional objective to provide a once in a lifetime, challenging and memorable experience.
