Mat-Su Arctic Winter Games....Closing Ceremonies 3:00 pm today at the Menard Sport Center. What happens after 4:00 pm? Some of the hardest work of all! Transportation of thousands of participants to the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport which includes over 2,500 of pieces of luggage, sporting equipment, etc. Moving 2,000 twin & bunk beds & mattresses, plus bringing 6 schools back to "normal" facility so that students may return to school from Spring Break Tuesday morning.

My goodness, look how Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race has changed!

The year was 1985 and the Iditarod restart was at Settler’s Bay golf course, along Knik Road out of Wasilla. My caption on this reads “musher takes off @ restart Iditarod 1985 Alaska." Wow not much information to go off of there. Now days I put A LOT more information to know who/what/when/where stuff is happening. Notice how narrow the start line is? No TV cameras or other media. Not many people either.
