Happy Labor Day! Captain Bob of the Sunbeam Fleet reports our schedule changes as of Labor Day to all day trips on Monday sailing at 7 AM for Porgie Seabass, Wednesday 7 AM trips targeting Seabass all day, Friday 8 AM half day blues and bass, Saturday 6 AM and 1 PM blues and bass, and Sunday at 7 AM for all day Porgy fishing. Overall, fishing has been very good. Blues have picked up in the last couple weeks with a couple Striped Bass showing up. Porgy fishing has remained steady as we carry on in to the later half of the season. Make sure to check out our website at www.sunbeamfleet.com for reservations as well as our full updated schedule.

We had a last minute cancellation this Saturday, August 15th, on our 6 AM Half Day trip so we’re opening up some extra spots! Make sure to get your reservations before it fills up!

The kids are still hot. Today’s pool winner was Young Jackson with a 31 inch striper as well Nathan took the pool the other day with a fine 20 inch Seabass. More and more blues showing up still very good bottom fishing. Summer is flying by come see you soon. Book your spot online or call the office

We have limited spots on our Kids Trips on August 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th, and 27th so make sure to bring the kids out one last time before school starts!

A slip has opened up at Captain John’s sport fishing center for the remainder of the 2026 season. This is a 40 foot Slip minimum . If you’re looking for a Slip, you can call the office at 860-443-7259.

The kids ruled last weekend. Seven year-old Colin and 12-year-old Cole took the pools last weekend. until the bluefish show up we will primarily be bottom fishing which has been very good. Looks like a beautiful rest of the week. Make your reservations now.

Captain Bob reports Porgy and Seabass fishing has picked up. Catches a very good with nice size Porgies and some keeper Seabass. Fluke fishing in the ocean has been decent however we did not get out the last couple of weeks due to the weather. Looking forward to next week! Our Striped Bass trips have been OK with fish up to 37 inches. Some days have been slower, and on those days we mix it up with a little bottom fishing. Blues are just trickling in so they should hopefully be here before the next full moon! Make sure to get your reservations in while the fishing is hot!
