🚨ATTENTION GLE MEMBERS🚨

The alert from our regional electric grid operator, MISO, issued earlier today that prompted us to appeal to members to reduce their electric use has been suspended. Members may resume their typical use at this time.

The alert was the result of severe winter weather currently affecting large areas of MISO’s 15-state service area, causing disruptions in normal electric generation and transmission. MISO has since taken steps to reduce the risk of demand on the larger grid exceeding supply.

The alert had nothing to do with any problems with GLE infrastructure or the availability of electricity from our supplier, Wolverine Power Cooperative. Instead, it was tied to our systems being part of the larger MISO grid.

We appreciate our members’ help in these situations. Rest assured, we will be monitoring the situation throughout the weekend and will provide updates if needed.

As we gear up for a snowy Thanksgiving holiday, the Otsego County Road Commission has said they will have trucks out, however, they will be concentrating on main roads only. Your neighborhood roads will not be touched until the storm breaks. We got this! Happy Thanksgiving.
