One hundred years after his death, Antoni Gaudí still shapes the way the world sees Barcelona.

I've visited many cities defined by great architecture, but few where a single architect's vision became so intertwined with the city's identity that it's impossible to imagine one without the other.

As Barcelona marks the centenary of Gaudí's death on June 10, I'm taking a look at the extraordinary legacy that continues to draw travelers from around the world — and why 2026 may be one of the most fascinating years yet to experience his work.

From iconic landmarks to milestone anniversary celebrations, here's why Gaudí still defines Barcelona a century later.

A cruise ship with no fuel and no emissions? Yes, we can!

Orient Express Sailing Yachts has launched its first ship.

Orient Express Corinthian is a 720-foot, 100-guest ultra-luxury vessel with three solid-sail rigs developed through a decade of research.

This is sailing reimagined with modern maritime technology. The SolidSail system draws on offshore racing technology, and when the wind drops, hybrid LNG propulsion and extensive energy-efficiency features support its environmental ambitions.

I'm fascinated by the - offshore racing-informed technology, the hybrid power that focuses on wind (with a back up!) and how a heritage ultra-luxury travel company famous for hotels and trains has translated its hospitality to the seas.

What's life like onboard? And what happens when there's no wind?

Santorini is one of the most dreamed-about islands in the world, and one of the clearest examples of why the overtourism conversation matters.

When too many visitors arrive in the same place at the same time, even the most beautiful destination can become hard to enjoy.

That’s why I’m watching ideas like the new Ultimate Santorini Day from Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruises, with interest. By creating more ways to experience the island — including the planned Royal Beach Club Santorini — cruise guests may be able to see more, wait less, and spread out more thoughtfully.

It’s not the whole answer to overtourism, but it is a key part of the conversation.

A stateroom that has the romance of another era.

Sailing through French Polynesia aboard Paul Gauguin Cruises, there’s something about the design that takes me back to the golden age of travel… the kind of place where you feel you should be writing an epic murder mystery on the veranda.

Would you spend more time indoors… or outside, watching the islands of Tahiti float by? 🏝️🚢
