Sweet or Savory? Disney Springs doesn’t open until 10:00 am, so there aren’t many spots to grab classic quick breakfast food. Two fan favorites are Earl of Sandwich for a breakfast sandwich and Gideon’s Bakehouse for their Coffee Cake cookie.

If you’re going to choose one... First, hear me out, I love Universal Orlando. I love all three parks, I love Volcano Bay, CityWalk is a blast and with 11 on-property resorts, there’s no wrong choice of where to stay. However...

Epic Universe is special. This park is so immersive and next level, so it is not a one and done kind of park. Nor can you REALLY conquer it in a single day. It is also situated about 10-15 minutes away from the other side of the Universal property. It’s an easy bus ride away, but for your first trip to Epic, and if you have a limited time to spend, just do Epic.

You need to call the brand new Grand Helios Hotel home. This new resort is the only one with a DEDICATED Epic Universe entry. If you feel like a splurge, go for a theme park view and you may never want to leave the room for the magnificent views!

The five themed lands of Epic have 11 main rides, two amazing shows and some of the best theme park food you’ll ever encounter. (And that’s just the Quick Service! Woah!) There is so much interaction in each land, spells to cast, coins to collect, so plan accordingly. You will be blown away!

The adult areas are great, but boy, those kids clubs are a dream! Even if you don’t have a kid onboard with you on your next Wish sailing, on orientation day, go check out the kids clubs. Your inner child will be GIDDY! No detail is missed, it seems like every genre is touched on and the amount of interactive & imaginative play opportunities is unmatched.

🏰Fairytale Hall is the ultimate in princess pretend play with spots to create art like Rapunzel, tell stories like Belle and feel like you are IN their movies!

🦸🏻‍♂️Marvel Super Hero Academy is for the Avenger in us all! Budding heroes can train like Avengers, design super suits and maybe even get to meet their heroes!

🛸Star Wars Cargo Bay is a galactic dream. This area is straight from George Lucas’ playbook and feels so authentic.

🎨Your junior Imagineers will love visiting the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab where they can design their own coaster in the ride studio and learn about how Disney animation magic is made.

We talk all the time about how you’ll have to beg your kids to hang out with you on a Disney cruise vacation. After you see these amazing thoughtful and creative play areas, you won’t take it personally. Which would your kid go nuts for?

Have you done this? Some people visit Disney parks and never go on a single ride! For whatever reason, they stick to shows, parades, ambiance and dining.

How about you? Would you be happy if someone said, “here’s a free ticket to Magic Kingdom, but you can’t go on any rides.” Would the ambiance, shows, parades, characters and pop up entertainment be enough?

Once upon a time, you could do this. Not too long ago, you could leave the comfort of your Walt Disney World resort, head over to enjoy a day at Universal Orlando Resort and feel like you’ve conquered the “other” side. Not any more, pals. Universal is in it to win your hearts and your hard earned vacation dollars! This is no longer a one or two day excursion!

Now with THREE major, jam packed theme parks and arguably the best water park around in Volcano Bay, this is not the kind of place you can just breeze into for the day anymore. This isn’t even the place you can breeze into for two days and do ALL the things anymore!

Aside from the exhilarating attractions, there are amazing shows, delicious dining options, great shopping, and 11 awesome on-property resort options. This is no longer the Universal you spent the day at in the 90s. She deserves another look. When was the last time you visited Universal?

A meaningful souvenir doesn’t have to have to scream where it’s from. I know, a lot of the merchandise at Disney parks and resorts is irresistible, but hear me out. Over the years I have learned that souvenirs are fun in the moment, but after a few weeks they just sit there collecting dust. Like you don’t really need another magnet, t-shirt or coffee mug. Consider something completely different to take home that will mean something to you for years and years to come!

Take a painting class at several resorts

Make your own candle at Disney Springs

Create your own Lego figure at Disney Springs

Have a fun caricature done at many locations

You get to do it all on the West Coast. It’s National California Day! I don’t know about you, but it immediately makes me think of Disneyland and reasons why anyone would choose a “land” over a “world”. How much time do you have? I could go on and on, but here are my top five:

☀️You’ll feel like you’ve done it all in under a week

☀️The entire resort is walkable. All of it. No long rides to parks

☀️The nostalgia and history are palpable

☀️Better versions of Walt Disney World attractions are here

☀️Toontown still exists here (Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown has an incredible queue)

Walt Disney World is still a favorite, but there are some things about Disneyland it just can’t compete with. Are you itching to visit Walt’s park on the west coast? Anyone call Disneyland their home resort? What’s your #1 favorite thing about it?

Captain your OWN vacation! Chances are you are always putting everyone’s needs ahead of your own. Your schedule is full of pick-ups/drop offs, lists, appointments, and endless days of figuring what’s for dinner. Bottom line, you deserve a break too and it doesn’t have to be weird to unplug and have some “you” time at sea!

A Disney Cruise Line trip is perfect, especially if you are new to solo trips. You can be as social or as antisocial as you like. You can choose to have dinner at a table with others to meet new folks or lay low and enjoy room service or a special evening at Palo.

Undisturbed balcony time with your favorite author and a character latte, winning medals at trivia, riding a bike at Castaway Cay, not having to share dessert...or the bathroom, or bed. How does all of that sound?
