Tour of Salzburg today. Mirabell gardens which were beautiful! So saw the winged horse statue where they sang “do rei mi” in the Sound of Music.

Passau Germany was the next stop. Sometimes I think if you’ve seen one church you’ve seen them all…but this cathedral was spectacular!

Today we had a walking tour of Linz. It’s Austria’s 3rd largest city. We were lucky to be in town during an art festival. The main square was packed last night with all kinds of performers (I was too busy enjoying them to snap any pics).

Today we boarded the Avalon Illumination, and we will actually be sailing! Water levels are higher on this part of the Danube.

Today we headed to Linz with a stop in Melk at the Melk Abbey. It’s absolutely amazing and definitely worth a visit. Today it’s used as a public high school and Benedictine monastery. No photos allowed inside, but the church is beautiful!

Vienna is absolutely stunning! The architecture is amazing and there are some fabulous shops.

I’m doing a river cruise this week sing the Danube. With the water levels being so low Avalon Cruises has had to pivot a bit. We stayed in Budapest for a night and had a lovely city tour and then made our way to Vienna by bus. We’ll spend 2 nights on the Avalon Tranquility.
