Last weekend I returned from the TBEX conference in Fargo, North Dakota. What a perfect visit for fall. I will say, I definitely did not get to see enough and need to go back!

I highly recommend staying at the Jasper, visiting the Moorhead Dairy Queen where the dilly bar was invented, take a walk and enjoy the cute shoppes, and so much more. I’ll be sharing more soon.

Grateful to Prime IV which brought me back to life.

The Wissota Sanctuary

📍 Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

This Airbnb was stunning and I cannot wait to come back for another visit. This is the perfect place to visit any time of year but I was lucky to be here in the fall as the leaves were changing colors.

It offers 3 bedrooms and two baths however, one of the bedrooms has four bunk beds so you can truly have multiple families here. I was a solo traveler this time but it would make a great family trip, couples retreat, or girls getaway.

The details were unbelievable and the pictures really do not do it justice. From the bunk room providing video games and cozy blankets hanging on the wall to the office that allows for private phone calls or remote work, if needed. There is so much to do outdoors or cozy up inside by the fireplace.

The kitchen is gorgeous and is more than fully stocked. They have so many appliances for you to use, including extras like a crock pot, a beverage fridge, and so much more.

They even had an amazing gift basket for me in the fridge with local cheeses and treats and I am bummed I forgot to eat up some of the goodies, next time!

The bed linens were so comfortable, it was truly difficult to leave! Waking up to views of the stunning lake was everything I needed. If you are visiting this area, I cannot recommend the Wissota Sanctuary enough.

📍 Stillwater, Minnesota

Yesterday, I flew from DC to Minneapolis for a weekend journey to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. On the way, I stopped for a quick visit in Stillwater located along the St. Croix River.

This historic town is known as the birthplace of Minnesota and is charming. I walked the waterfront, crossed the bridge, climbed the outdoor steps, and visited a few shops before heading on to Wisconsin. I hope I get to come back for a longer visit.

📍DAY 21: Headed home

Arrived at Istanbul airport from my first flight from Singapore. I boarded my final flight (nearly 11 hours) to DC however, we had to deplane for a bit before being bused to another plane and taking off. I scheduled a car service for my airport pickup, it was actually less expensive to do this than the parking this time. It was perfect for the hour and a half drive home since I was so tired!

As I was walking up to my door, a friendly kitten appears from nowhere. 24 hours later he became
My newest family member.

After dropping the bags, I picked up my baby Oliver from mom and dad.

Travel days are long and exhausting, but worth the journey. Follow along as I will be headed on another adventure soon!

📍DAY 20: Singapore 🇸🇬

Time to start the long journey home!

Since I was ill, I stayed in my room and relaxed and then repacked to get my luggage weight distributed. So happy to have a comfortable room with a view.

I left early for the Singapore Changi airport and first stop was visiting the Jewel. While I knew about the rain vortex in the Jewel, I did not know that the Jewel is a large shopping mall and has numerous restaurants. This is a good way to kill some time.

Then it was time to board my first of two flights for the long journey home. First was just over 11 hours flight to Istanbul.

📍DAY 19: Singapore 🇸🇬

Yesterday took quite a turn. I started the day on a hop on hop off bus to see some of the sights and get a better layout of the area. Singapore is a large city so walkability depends on where you are staying and what exactly you want to see.

Unfortunately, I barely made it back from the bus when I became ill. I spent the next 24+ hours in my room. Luckily, I am at a beautiful hotel and the staff were able to accommodate some room service requests. Not sure if the illness was from heat, dehydration, food or a mix of everything. The toughest part was having to miss an evening river cruise and light show that I had booked that would have taken me to sights I really wanted to see.

I am so glad that my room with a view offered me the ability to see the sights from afar.

📍DAY 18: Kampong Cham, Cambodia 🇰🇭 🚙 to Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🇰🇭 ✈️ to Singapore 🇸🇬

Yesterday I left Kampong Cham via private car to head to the KTI airport in Phnom Penh. This is a 3 hour drive. Others left the ship to Siem Reap which was a 6 hour drive.

The KTI airport is new and it’s stunning. It also was not overcrowded and I breezed right through security. I headed to the lounge thanks to my priority pass. The lounge also has a spa so I was able to get a 45 minute massage for $28. What a great way to pass some time.

I boarded my Singapore air flight and my first thought was that it was the cleanest plane I have ever been on. I had a row all to myself and even though the flight was under two hours, we had a meal and drink service twice. And I was in economy. The meal was a choice between chicken pasta and a seafood noodle. I got the seafood noodle and it’s the best airplane food I have ever had. It also comes in cute little containers. The staff on this flight were amazing.

I got a Grab (their Uber) from the airport quickly and made it to check into my hotel around 6:30pm. The hotel is stunning and I will share more later. I had a dinner reservation in the hotel at 8pm for Cherry Garden by Chef Fei which is a one Michelin star restaurant. It was fantastic and again, amazing service.

Early bedtime because travel days are exhausting!

📍DAY 17: Angkor Ban Village & Kampong Cham, Cambodia 🇰🇭

This morning started with a ceremony providing food to monks and exploring Angkor Ban Village. This is the only village not destroyed during the Khmer Rouge regime and some of these stilted houses are up to 100 years old.

Back on ship, we had a tea ceremony and tried milk oolong tea.

We reached our final port of call, Kampong Cham which is Cambodia’s 3rd largest city.

Our final excursion had us headed out to view the Twin Mountains. I was excited that we got to see a few monkeys!

Tomorrow I am headed to my final destination of this trip, Singapore!
