Luxembourg cozy boutique hotel 🇱🇺

During my visit to Luxembourg City, I stayed at Hotel Le Place d’Armes, a beautiful boutique hotel tucked into the heart of the city’s historic center. For a few nights, Room 32 was home.

What makes this hotel so special is its combination of historic charm and modern luxury. Set within a collection of restored historic buildings surrounding the picturesque Place d’Armes square, the hotel offers elegant rooms, personalized service, beautiful design, and an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.
One of my favorite parts? The location.

Step outside the front door and you’re within walking distance of Luxembourg City’s charming squares, cafés, restaurants, shops, historic fortifications, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the Pétrusse and Alzette valleys. It’s the perfect home base for exploring this walkable European capital.

The hotel also features several dining options, including a cozy lounge, an inviting courtyard terrace, and exceptional restaurants that make it tempting to stay in as much as venture out.

Luxembourg may be one of Europe’s smallest countries, but it completely surprised me with its beauty, history, and charm. And Hotel Le Place d’Armes was the perfect place to experience it all. Make sure to also explore the sunny countryside and try some great local wine.

🇨🇭 Why Visit Beautiful Bern, Switzerland? ✈️

Bern may be Switzerland’s capital, but it feels more like a charming storybook town than a busy city.

Why I loved Bern:
• Stroll through the UNESCO listed Old Town with its cobblestone streets
• See the famous Clock Tower (Zytglogge) and watch the centuries-old clock perform
• Spot the bears at Bear Park, the city’s symbol
• Walk across beautiful bridges with views of the turquoise Aare River
• Visit the stunning Bern Cathedral, Switzerland’s tallest church
• Enjoy outdoor cafés and local shops
• Take in incredible views of the Alps on a clear day
• Take a chocolate walking tour, such much great chocolate to taste! 🍫

📍 Population: About 145,000

Bern is the perfect mix of history, scenery, and Swiss charm.

I’m not waiting to:
♥️ retire
♥️ meet the right person
♥️ have someone to travel with
♥️ lose weight or be “fit” again 
♥️ feel more confident
♥️ have the “perfect timing”
♥️ make more $$$ or things slow down
♥️ have every detail figured out

Because the truth is, there will always be a reason to wait.

And while I absolutely hope to share future adventures with the right person someday, I’m not putting my life, dreams, or passport on hold until then.

Some of the most meaningful experiences of my life have happened because I booked the ticket anyway. I also have met the most amazing people along the way. ✈️🧳🙏🏻💕

So here’s your reminder, you are allowed to see the world now. Do what you want, when you can. There are no guarantees. I hope you live your dreams, whatever they may be. I am cheering for you. ♥️ 🥂

📍 Isle of Iona, Scotland

A few things I loved about visiting Iona in May:
🌊 Taking the ferry over to this tiny island off Scotland’s west coast
🌊 Knowing only around 120–170 people live on the island year-round
🌊 Bright green landscapes and blooming wildflowers everywhere
🌊 White sand beaches and surprisingly turquoise water
🌊 Wandering quiet paths with ocean views around every corner
🌊 Visiting the historic Iona Abbey, which dates back over 1,400 years 
🌊 The peaceful atmosphere and slower pace of island life
Cool fresh air, long daylight hours, and very few crowds
🌊 Feeling completely disconnected from the busy world for a little while

Iona may be small, but there’s something really special about it. A lot of visitors also combine Iona with nearby Isle of Mull, since you take a ferry from Mull over to Iona. It makes for a really beautiful part of a Scotland itinerary.

One year ago today, I heard one of the most beautiful sounds in the world… the sound of cow bells echoing through the Swiss Alps 🇨🇭🥹 🐄 🔔

I was hiking through the mountains in Switzerland surrounded by wildflowers, fresh mountain air, and postcard views when I heard them in the distance then all of a sudden, I was up close and personal with some of the cows.
