A Renters Review
By Jack
My amazing mom and dad took me to the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina for their Wedding anniversary. Obviously, they took me because I'm the bestest boy there ever was. They surprised me by booking a stay above one of my favorite places, Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery and we discovered they had added my, now, second favorite place- The Smoky Mountain Dog Bar.
Picture this, you wake up to the sights, sounds, and smells of downtown Waynesville waking up. The bakery is baking, the leaves are gently falling from the trees, the mist is rising above the mountains.
Your morning walk takes you through the picturesque brick sidewalks of historic Waynesville. Keep walking and you'll find mom and dad's favorite coffee places. If you want a bagel stop by Times Square Bagels, if you want biscuits and gravy stop by Main Street Diner. We quickly discovered there was nowhere bad to eat in Waynesville and everything was walkable, even for my 14 year old, shorter legs.
Lunch brings you to the Smoky Mountain Dog Bar. I really enjoyed sitting on the stools and meeting the bar staff. I also checked out the comfy chairs in the dining room and ate my fill from the free treats provided on every table. After my tummy was full I decided it was time to go back to the beautiful apartment and rest awhile on the brand new couch and listen to the birds.
Fully rested, mom, dad, and I picked out a moderate hike that wasn't far away. A beautiful place called Pink Beds within The Pisgah National Forest. *If you need a list of dog friendly hikes in the area just ask the staff from Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery.* Three miles later and a million pictures of me basking in nature, it was time for dinner! I asked if we could go back to The Smoky Mountain Dog Bar because they have doggy Ice-cream and I earned it! Did Mom say yes? Of course she did, this trip was all about ME!
In short, do I recommend Smoky Mountain Dog Stay? PAW-sitively I do!
Thanks for reading!
