If you asked my grandfather, he would say I was the world’s best baker ever as a kid!!! He still recalls my weekend visits and standing at the kitchen counter with my grandma on my stool so I could reach. I grew up in an Italian/Ukrainian family and traditional foods were always on the table. Holidays and celebrations were filled with extended family and friends and the kitchen was the focal point

. Each grandmother shared family recipes and instilled in me the love of the kitchen. As an adult I married into a Jewish family with my sights set on learning those dishes and traditions. They have been passed on to my children. Entertaining comes naturally for me, making people happy by creating memories is a gift I have been given. Professionally I have been a Recruiter and in Human Resources for over 25 years. I worked in the restaurant industry in my early 20’s and owned a resort marina located on the Southeast end of Sodus Bay, Lake Ontario. My restaurant was 15,000 sq. feet and was able to accommodate regular restaurant patrons, weddings, parties and special events. I am married to Tim Dougherty and have two children Courtney and Tyler who are attending college in New York. My stay home babies are my two Rottweiler’s Echo and Zeus, they bring me almost as much joy as cooking does!
