🚨 Trail news just keeps getting better in RoCo! 🚨
We’re thrilled to celebrate even more trail expansion right here in RoCo — this time in Mayodan! 🎉 The Town of Mayodan has received funding to extend the trails at Farris Memorial Park, adding to the incredible momentum we’re seeing for outdoor recreation across the county.
Between this exciting project and the funding Visit RoCo received for Hogan’s Creek Trail, big things are happening for trail lovers in RoCo — and we’re just getting started. 👟🌿
👏 Congrats to our friends in Mayodan! Be sure to check out their full post below ⬇️
We’re thrilled to announce that the Town of Mayodan has been awarded a $251,185 grant from the Great Trails State Initiative to develop a 4.8-mile natural surface trail at Farris Memorial Park!
This exciting project will create a shared-use trail for hikers and mountain bikers, designed to IMBA standards and accessible for all ages and skill levels. Once complete, it will double the park’s current trail mileage and elevate Mayodan as a regional outdoor recreation destination.
The trail is expected to be completed over the next 3 years, and community involvement will play a key role in bringing it to life.
This is more than a path through the woods — it's a path toward healthier living, stronger community, and greater access to nature for everyone.
Stay tuned for updates, and thank you to our partners and supporters who helped make this possible!
