🚨 Exciting News! Thomas County Schools has been awarded a $87,000 grant through the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission to launch a Smart Manufacturing Pilot Program at Thomas County Central High School this fall!
In partnership with Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute, Georgia AIM, and local company CheckMate Industries, this 6-week course will give students hands-on experience with:
🛠️ CAD design
🔩 CNC machining
🖨️ 3D printing
💻 Python data analysis
Students will even design and race their own 3D-printed cars in a final project! 🏎️
This innovative program will equip students with real-world skills in design, data science, and advanced manufacturing—preparing them for the future of work in high-demand fields. We’re excited about the opportunity this brings to our students!
