Next week, we’re sharing something we’ve been working on for quite a while.

More than a visitor guide, we’ve produced a small collection of stories, places, and experiences that help explain why generations of travelers—indigenous and modern—have found their way to this corner of the world for centuries.

From the Buffalo Trace to the grand resort hotels. From Patoka Lake to the front porches that have welcomed visitors for generations. We are excited to share pages and stories of mineral springs, railroads, resilience, renewal, and the people who shaped Orange County along the way.

The first-ever Timeless French Lick Official Visitor Guide arrives Friday.

Until then, here’s a small peek inside.

Take your time.

IU ending up at West Baden for Indiana University Athletics signature Cream & Crimson event is… well… perfect.

A bunch of Hoosiers getting together in the grandest room in Indiana to talk ball, play golf, laugh too loud, and probably tell the same stories they’ve told for 20 years is not a marketing pitch. That’s just Indiana.

The dome at West Baden still has a way of making people stop for a second when they walk in. Doesn’t matter how many times they’ve seen it.

How Timeless to see us host another one of those “only in Indiana” kind of weekends.

Join us Sunday, June 14 at the stunning West Baden Springs Hotel for our signature Cream & Crimson event, an unforgettable night in the iconic West Baden Atrium. Mingle with IU athletes, coaches, and legends over cocktails and dinner, snap a photo with the IU Football National Championship trophies, and celebrate Hoosier pride in one of Indiana's most breathtaking settings. Dinner-only tickets start at just $250.

Interested in the full event? There’s still time to secure a foursome in the golf outing which includes two rounds on the iconic Pete Dye Golf Course and a gift package valued at over $1,000.

Today we consider Memorial Day as a bit more than the unofficial start of summer. We pause and linger a moment to remember the people who carried this country forward through service, sacrifice, courage, and duty.

This weekend, as part of the Smithsonian’s Voices & Votes exhibition at the Timeless French Lick Visitor Center, we’ve added a special companion experience titled “The Cost of Democracy.” Visitors are invited to stop in, reflect, write notes, remember loved ones, and engage with a series of interactive stations centered around service, citizenship, and the unfinished work of democracy.

One station simply asks guests to write the name of someone they remember. Another prompts what democracy asks of us. Another asks what we still hope to work toward as a country.

If you find yourself in French Lick, West Baden, Paoli, Orleans, or anywhere nearby this Memorial Day weekend, we hope you’ll stop in and spend a little time with us. Walk the Smithsonian exhibit. Leave a note. Read someone else’s reflection. Remember those who helped shape the freedoms we often take for granted.

Take your time. That feels especially important this weekend.

The Smithsonian’s Voices & Votes exhibition and companion programming are on display now through June 28 at the Timeless French Lick Visitor Center.

Summer Saturday mornings in Orleans, Indiana just feel perfectly right.

The Farmers Market is back on historic Congress Square every Saturday from 8 to noon all summer long. Fresh vegetables. Homemade goods. Flowers. Beef. Baked items. Handmade finds. Kids running around the square while folks catch up under tents and shade trees.

For us, this is the front porch of Timeless French Lick. It’s where the hills, farms, small towns, and people of Orange County all come together.

And for visitors passing through? There may not be a better way to experience the real Southern Indiana than spending a slow Saturday morning on the square with coffee in hand and nowhere else to be.

Take your time and stay awhile. 🌽🍓☀️

Some pretty remarkable young people from Orange County are now part of the story unfolding inside the Smithsonian’s “Voices & Votes” exhibition at the Timeless French Lick Visitors Center.

As part of our local America 250 programming, we invited students to reflect on America’s history, democracy, and the future they hope to build. Their essays—and now their voices—are featured in a special interview series playing alongside the national Smithsonian exhibit.

A special thank you to our very own Dr. Brandy Terrell ("Dr.T") for helping bring these conversations to life and creating a platform where our students could share their perspectives in such a thoughtful and authentic way.

Truthfully, one of the best parts of this entire project has been watching young people thoughtfully engage with big ideas, difficult questions, and the responsibilities that come with shaping the next chapter of this country.

If you stop by the exhibit, take a few extra minutes. Scan the QR code, listen in, and hear directly from the next generation of Orange County voices.

Take your time. It's been 250 years. 🇺🇸

Another reason Timeless French Lick remains one of America’s great golf destinations. ⛳🌄

Time Out recently named the Pete Dye Course at French Lick one of the “10 U.S. golf courses with jaw-dropping views,” highlighting the sweeping panoramas of the Hoosier National Forest and the dramatic terrain that makes the course so unforgettable.

From championship Golf to quiet mornings in the hills, sunsets at Patoka Lake, and rides on the Scenic Railway, Orange County Indiana has been welcoming travelers looking to take their time for generations.

Who’s adding Timeless French Lick to their golf bucket list?

Tonight at the historic First Baptist (Colored) Church in West Baden, we gathered for an evening of storytelling, reflection, music, food, and community as part of our Smithsonian Voices & Votes companion programming.

“Powerful” doesn’t begin to describe sitting inside a church founded in 1909 by Black families who built an entire ecosystem of tourism during the grand resort era. The hospitality staff (and resort owners) that created what we have today gathered in this building to celebrate, mourn, praise, and at times—yearn for better. The walls carry history. You can feel it.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, shared conversation, watched the documentary, and helped honor a part of our valley’s story that deserves to be seen, preserved, and remembered. A heart full of gratitude goes to Liz Mitchell, Pastor Rose, and all those who helped tell the story of “A Labor of Love.”

Timeless French Lick has never just been about hotels or attractions. It’s about people: their stories, culture, heritage, and lives. Generations of people. The communities they built here are echoes of their triumphs and tribulations alike.

And honestly… sharing BBQ and conversation on a warm Southern Indiana evening beside a 100+ year-old church feels like a pretty good way to spend some time.

Take your time.

There was a whole lotta gray hair and air guitar in French Lick last night… and honestly, it was beautiful.

Orleans opened things up, Firefall kept it rolling, Atlanta Rhythm Section brought the easy southern groove, and Jefferson Starship reminded everybody that some songs are just wired into your bones forever.

For a few hours, the valley felt timeless in the best possible way. Purple lights in the haze. Folks singing every word. Couples dancing like they were young again. Kids seeing legends for the first time.

We’ve been gathering people in this valley for generations now. Different music. Different crowds. Same idea. Slow down a little. Linger. Make a memory.

Classic rock just happened to be the soundtrack last night. 🎸
