✨ A little glimpse behind the scenes of my journey… ✨

I recently had the amazing honor of being invited by my high school for an interview about my journey from being a high school student to becoming a travel advisor and business owner. ❤️

And this interview ended up being about SO much more than just travel!

🎓 What was I like as a high school kid?
💍 How did I meet my husband?
✈️ What led me from high school… to the travel industry… and eventually to owning my own travel agency?
📺 And how did I end up having my little moment in the spotlight on TV? 😉

I share some personal stories, some fun memories, and the experiences that helped shape the path that brought me here today.

It was such a special experience to look back at where I started and realize just how much can happen between high school and the life you end up building. ❤️

One of the things people don't always see about being a travel advisor is what happens behind the scenes when travel doesn't go as planned.

Yesterday morning, I woke up to clients whose flights had been disrupted. A delay on their first flight meant they would miss their connecting flight, and with no other available flights going to their destination, suddenly their long-awaited vacation was in jeopardy.

My next few hours were spent on the phone coordinating with airlines, working with Sandals, updating travel insurance, adjusting airport transfers, helping them find a hotel near Chicago, researching new flight options, and finding a park, stay, and fly package. There were a lot of moving pieces, but step by step, everything came together.

Instead of losing vacation time, we were able to adjust their reservation so they can still enjoy the same number of nights they originally planned. Even better, they now have a clear plan forward.

Was it the Sunday morning I expected? Not at all.

Was I grateful to be there for them? Absolutely.

This is why I love what I do. My role isn't just booking vacations. It's being there when the unexpected happens. I'm not advocating for the airline or the resort. I'm advocating for my clients and doing everything I can to help them have the best possible experience.

Travel is full of wonderful surprises, but sometimes it comes with unexpected challenges too. Knowing you have someone in your corner who can navigate those challenges can make all the difference.

Today was a busy reminder of why I truly love serving my clients, and I'm thankful they trusted me to help get their vacation back on track. ❤️
