A spectacular sunrise ushered in a magnificent day of fishing.
The clouds over the Gulf were illuminated by the rising sun. Isolated light rain showers didn’t spoil the day. We doubled up limit of redfish and caught several more in the same spot near a mangrove island.
The seatrout were on the flats early in 4’ of water.
Shrimp, pinfish and shiners all got bites but a two or 3” pinfish got the most.

An inshore grand slam. Snook, spotted seatrout and redfish. Tying to get off the water before the hottest part of the day and the afternoon storms develop. My goal was an inshore grand slam. I caught the snook to complete the slam when I tried one more spot not far from the boat ramp.

It’s so windy today even the Osprey are staying ashore. It didn’t see anything it liked in my yard and it soon moved on. Maybe to Ware’s Creek or one of the many retention ponds nearby.

I fished with my friend Bob Slicker last week. We caught mangrove snapper, speckled seatrout and a few other flats species. I tried a spot I hadn’t fished for a couple years and found it still holds large trout! At least two anyway, one a little over 20” and another 21.25”. The larger of the two was released to make more trout. 🐟
