I specialize in Caribbean destination weddings, particularly at Sandals and Beaches Resorts. Our agency handles more than 15 weddings a year, and I've made it a priority to know these destinations far beyond what you can find on a website!

I personally stay at these resorts. I tour the different room categories that I'm not staying in. I explore the wedding venues, restaurants, beaches, and spaces where your guests will spend their vacation.

And while I'm there? I'm meeting with the wedding teams, asking questions, building relationships, and learning the little details that can make an enormous difference in your experience.

Choosing a destination wedding resort isn't simply about finding a beautiful beach....

Your friends went to the same island. Doesn’t mean you should have the same vacation. 🌴

If we’ve worked together, you already know I get a little obsessed with matching you to the right resort and room. The location, the layout, the view, the private pool... those details can change everything.

But honestly? Some of my favorite things to plan happen OUTSIDE the room.

They’re the moments that make you fall in love with the island itself. The ones you won’t stop talking about when you get home.

Maybe it’s a cacao farm in Saint Lucia where you roll up your sleeves and make your own chocolate bar. Or a private boat day in Jamaica, built around your honeymoon, your family, or your wedding group.

Splitting your stay between two resorts? Let’s talk about a private boat transfer… Suddenly moving day becomes a favorite day, with salty air and time on the water in between!

And let’s not forget the arrival…. Who doesn’t want their vacation to actually start the second they land?? In Saint Lucia, the Airport Ferry Transfer turns the trip in from the airport into part of the vacation: comfy seats, gorgeous coastline, and an open bar. Not a bad way to say hello to an island. 🥂

I spent today touring the Disney Wish, and this picture pretty much sums up how I feel about being back onboard! ❤️

The details… The dining…. The spaces for kids to be kids - and adults to feel like they’re on vacation, too. There’s a reason this ship is still my favorite!!

We went to The Cake Bake Shop and didn’t order cake… but hear me out. 😂🍟✨

We stopped in for Social Hour at Disney’s BoardWalk and ordered sliders and sparkle fries - the basil aioli dip was sooooo goooood! I would absolutely go back for those sliders and that dip alone. Honorable mention for the pimento cheese dip 😍

Between the gorgeous setting and a chance to sit down and catch up, it was such a nice little break during our Disney day. Disney trips don’t always have to be go, go, go - sometimes you need to leave room for a stop like this! 💕

And the cake? We’ll save that for another visit. 😉

You might have noticed some Sandals and Beaches resort names have changed! 👀🌴

If you opened the app, checked your reservation and saw a resort name you didn’t recognize, don’t panic - you were not moved to a different resort.
These are the same properties you booked, just with updated names that make the destination easier to identify.

For example:

🌴 Sandals Royal Caribbean is now Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay

My next few days are going to involve a little pixie dust… and a whole lot of steps! 🏰✨
I’m heading to Walt Disney World Thursday through Tuesday for an agency trip packed with training, exploring, and firsthand experiences to bring back to YOU!

Day 3 at Sandals Dunn’s River 🇯🇲☀️
Golf, a little beach time, a couples massage, and TWO dinner stops… we really made the most of this one!

⛳️ Golf for Ray, a slow morning for me
Ray headed out early to golf at Upton Estate with Dennis, my favorite caddie who I met in September! I told him he owed Dennis an apology on my behalf for my golf game. 🤣 The shuttle arrived right on time at 6:45 a.m., so be aware it’s NOT on “island time”.

Meanwhile, I caught up on emails from our SkyPool terrace before breakfast arrived at 8:30. Working with this view is something I will never complain about!

🍳 Jamaican breakfast with a new favorite
I love trying local food when I travel, so I ordered ackee and saltfish with fried plantains. Actually, I just asked our Butler team for a Jamaican breakfast, and they understood the assignment!! My new favorite… The June plum juice! Sweet, tart, and SO good. Now I need to figure out how to get this at home 😅

🌊 Beach time
Our butler Shawne had our chairs ready, and Ray was back from golf and joined me on the beach by about 10:40!

We had a green flag and beautiful turquoise water. There are some rocky spots when you first walk in, so watch your footing, but we could see where we were stepping. A few fish swam by, and we spent a couple of hours enjoying that gorgeous water before heading to the spa.

My recommendation: If you’re only spending part of the day at the beach, reserved chairs may be all you need. We skipped the cabana this time since we had our massage scheduled and wouldn’t be on the beach very long to enjoy it.

💆🏼‍♀️ Couples massage over the water
We chose a massage out on the pier, and hearing the waves underneath us was amazing. Both massages were exactly what we needed, and soooo good. This might be the best massage I personally have ever had - Antoinette was my masseuse and the pressure was perfect.

One honest note: You could also hear music from the neighboring resort. Ray would choose an indoor treatment next time for a quieter experience… although he still fell asleep, so clearly he managed to relax. 😂😅

We also spent time enjoying the spa’s pool, hot tub, and cold plunge. Ray did the cold plunge for about 5 mins…. I went to Jamaica to be WARM, so that was a hard pass for me, I will pay to avoid the cold 😅

I also appreciated that our therapists asked whether we wanted to hear about products before discussing them. There was no pushy sales pitch for products, which made the whole experience even better. I wanted to hear about them though, and ended up with a few!

🍹 Pool time
After the spa, we met up with friends we’d made the day before and stayed at the pool until the bar closed and the rain started for a quick 15 mins.

Why do we all get out of the pool when it rains? We’re already wet. And yet… there the whole pool went. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

🍣 Sushi AND Zuka
We went back to Hanami for that Philadelphia roll because once was definitely not enough! Service was much quicker this visit, and we were in and out in under an hour. Ray ranked this as the best sushi he’s ever had.

Then we headed to Zuka for dinner. I had the surf and turf with flank steak, red snapper and lobster tail, and Ray had the Feijoada short rib and pork belly dish. We both really enjoyed our meals here. Everything arrived hot, and the steak was cooked just as requested, which I think is important to note!

☕️ Coffee, fire pits, and Dunn’s Rum Club
After dinner, we stopped at BLŪM because I needed a little help staying awake if we were making it to the Rum Club late. The coffee here is SO good, and the outdoor seating is a lovely spot to sit and talk at night, even if you’re not having caffeine at 8pm

Then we spent some time by the fire outside Dunn’s Rum Club. Between the fire and water features in the water fountains here, I could have sat there staring at it for hours. It’s so incredibly relaxing. Really this whole resort is!!

We stopped inside, too, but didn’t quite make it to the late-night party! Earlier in the evening, it had a relaxed atmosphere that was perfect for an after-dinner drink. Next time, I may need a nap so I can hang for the DJ. 😂

💛 My biggest takeaway?
Give yourself more time here if you can. We knew 3 days wouldn’t be “enough” but we work with what we can with 4 littles at home!!

We’re heading home today, and we’re already talking about coming back. Three nights gave us a wonderful little getaway, but next time I’d love at least 5 nights to enjoy more of the resort without trying to fit everything in.

And… we’re considering a couples trip here in 2028 with an optional golf component! You wouldn’t have to golf, and you could spend as much or as little time with the group as you wanted. Your vacation, your room choice, your pace - with some fun people along for the trip. 😉

Day 2 at Sandals Dunn’s River: floating breakfast, poolside relaxation, and apparently eating our way through the resort. 🇯🇲☀️🍣

The food yesterday deserves its own post… but let’s start at the beginning! 😂

🌴 A peaceful start
I started the morning catching up on work from our balcony. The ocean breeze, palm trees, and sounds of the water features make it pretty hard to complain about answering emails. I could sit out here all day.

🍍 Floating breakfast in our private pool
Our butler Shawne arranged breakfast in our SkyPool, complete with eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, extra Blue Mountain coffee, and the coconut French toast from Edessa.

That French toast?! Easily one of my favorite breakfast dishes I’ve had at a Sandals resort. Thick pieces, but somehow so light and fluffy. We looked at the two orders and thought there was no way we’d finish them. Spoiler: we did. 😂

🏝️ A little work before pool time
Next up were resort and room tours! Even when I’ve visited a property before, I love touring again. Different guides share different details, and there’s always something to learn - from room layouts to restaurant facts. Seeing it firsthand helps me match my clients with the right experience! And it’s fun to wander around dreaming about which room I’ll stay in next!!

🍹 Our afternoon pool cabana
After the tours, we settled into a half-day pool cabana. Having a guaranteed shaded space, a fan, and a cabana butler made for such an easy afternoon!!

Lunch was jerk chicken and festival from the Jerk Shack, which is always one of my favorite stops. It was Ray’s first time trying festival, and now he wants to buy a deep fryer. So that went well. 😂
We spent the afternoon in the pool, met some really fun people, and came back to coconut shrimp and more snacks waiting at our cabana. Tough day!

You can rent cabanas here for full or half day. It’s not something you can really set up ahead of time, so make sure you mention it at check-in or to your butler or concierge in the Club if you are hoping to snag one!!

🍣 Sushi “appetizers” at Hanami
We’re trying to experience as much as possible before heading home, so naturally, we decided dinner needed two stops. For research, obviously!!

The Philadelphia roll was a standout - thank you to Lisa Glatfelter my Sandals BDM, for that recommendation, because it was perfection. The panko around the roll… I can’t even explain it. You just have to try it!!! We also tried tuna tataki, a vegetarian roll, and edamame, along with the Sake Cruise cocktail I first fell in love with at Beaches Turks & Caicos!!

Our food took about an hour, so give yourself time here. We enjoyed sitting together, and the sushi was absolutely worth trying.

🇬🇷 Dinner at Edessa
Baked feta, pita and dips, spanakopita, sea bass with a side of orzo, and lamb chops for Ray… we were VERY happy and VERY full. The food here has been more than good - it’s been memorable. Even the vegetables have me wondering why mine don’t taste like this at home 😅 The sea bass with the feta-and-tomato orzo was such a good combination.

And a dining tip for you.. you can order smaller portions of entrees if you want them as a side. The feta and tomato orzo was a whole entree, but I asked for a side portion to go with my main meal! It’s a great way to try all the things without wasting tons of food.

🥃 Ending the night at Dunn’s Rum Club
We finished with cocktails and music at Dunn’s Rum Club. It started with a more relaxed Motown feel (which was making Ray sleepy, but I told him he must hold out, it would become vibey soon!!), then around 10:30 the DJ changed over into hip-hop and dancehall - which was exactly what I’d been waiting for! 💃 Fun fact you didn’t ask for… I’m mildly obsessed with dancehall 😅

It was a quieter crowd while we were there, so we’re planning another visit tonight. A lot of guests check out on Sunday, so we’re thinking maybe people turned in early last night.

And hopefully we’ll leave enough room to finally try those oxtail sliders!

My day-two takeaway: Leave time to relax, bring your appetite, and don’t underestimate how much you’ll enjoy doing absolutely nothing by the pool. 💙💙

Day 1 at Sandals Dunn’s River: patties, SkyPool views, sushi, and a beach party. 🌴🇯🇲 Honestly, a pretty perfect start!

A few first impressions and tips if you’re considering a long weekend here:

✈️ Take the earliest flight you can, absolutely don’t skip Club MoBay for expedited customs/immigrations, and consider a private transfer. Having that extra resort time is so worth it! Our driver, Clive, was wonderful - sharing stories about Jamaica and happily stopping for the Juici Patties I’ve been craving since my last visit. The vacation started before we even reached the resort!

🌊 The SkyPool immediately passed my temperature test. I’ve read reviews about the water being chilly, but ours has felt comfortable - even first thing this morning. That’s my experience with this trip’s weather, of course! It’s perfect for floating, sitting on the ledge, and soaking up those ocean views. ‼️ A word of caution… FOUR people warned me these pools are not only completely transparent, but also MAGNIFIED from the view below 🤣 I’m not sure why they think we needed that warning 🤔 but really, Ray came to stand with me in the pool and guests below in the main pool were watching… probably waiting for something 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

🥥 Our welcome was so thoughtful. Flowers, a bath already drawn, our requested drinks stocked, and a fresh coconut with my favorite coconut rum waiting for me. Our butler, Shawne, has been phenomenal, and our bags arrived quickly so we could unpack and settle right in!!

🍣 Dinner highlights: sushi, salmon, and banana spring rolls. The orange dragon roll was delicious, and the vegetables were incredibly fresh. Ray ordered the salmon entree and I could have eaten two of them, it was so good. The lo mein wasn’t my favorite (because I’m used to overly salty American lo mein 🤦🏻‍♀️), but overall we LOVED Banyu.

🔥 The beach party gave me a second wind after a 2 a.m. wake-up. Steel drums, reggae, a DJ, and absolutely mesmerizing fire dancers. The entertainment team brought so much energy, even with a smaller crowd. And yes, the donut wall deserves its own mention. Coming from someone who lives near Beilers Amish market donuts, that’s saying something! 😂🍩

A Friday arrival tip: Some restaurants were closed for dinner for the beach party, which also had food stations. We adjusted our dinner plans easily, but it’s helpful to know if you have your heart set on a particular restaurant!

My overall impression? Beautiful grounds, stunning nighttime lighting, gorgeous water features, an easy-to-navigate layout, and a very relaxing atmosphere. It’s quieter, with entertainment still just footsteps away when you want it. We could hear a little bass back in our oceanfront room around 10, but with our fan running, it didn’t bother us at all and we fell asleep easily.

That reminds me… these rooms are COMFORTABLE. I didn’t wake up once, which … never happens, lol. The beds are perfect, they got rid of the feather products for me before we arrived because I’m allergic, and the temperature of the room is perfect. Zero issues with cooling or humidity here.

We called it a night before making it to Dunn’s Rum Club, so that’s on my list for tonight! 🥃
