Some roads are more than just a way to get from one place to another.

The Pacific Coast Highway is one of them.

This legendary stretch of California hugs the edge of the Pacific, with mountains on one side and incredible ocean views on the other. Cliffs, crashing waves, hidden coves and those famous California coastal views around one curve after another.

And we're doing something a little different for this one...

We're taking a smaller group and traveling by a smaller bus specifically so we can experience this incredible highway! Instead of taking the faster inland route, we want the journey itself to be part of the experience.

It's definitely one of the things we're most excited about on our California Coast journey, April 11–20, 2027 from San Francisco to San Diego.

Sometimes the best part of a trip isn't just where you're going. It's the road you take to get there.

A Niagara Falls morning!

What a wonderful final day in Niagara Falls!

We started with Niagara Takes Flight, and it was definitely a group favorite! Then we enjoyed some maple sugar and chocolate. You just can’t go wrong with that combination!

We even got to spot some Black Squirrels!!

With a free afternoon, several of us visited the beautiful Butterfly Conservatory. We finished the evening with a fabulous view, wonderful food, and great friends.

The trip isn’t over quite yet. We still have a few fun things planned for tomorrow!

Have you ever been to Derby Dinner Playhouse?

This is one of our favorite day trips, and if you've never been, you're missing a fun way to spend an afternoon!

Located just across the river from Louisville in Clarksville, Indiana, Derby Dinner Playhouse is a true theater-in-the-round experience. You enjoy a great lunch right at your table, then sit back and watch a fantastic live show with the stage right in the middle of the room. And at intermission? Dessert!

Good food, great entertainment, no driving to worry about, and everything taken care of. There's a reason we keep going back!

There are some drives where you just want to slow down and take it all in.

California’s famous 17-Mile Drive is definitely one of them. Winding along the Monterey Peninsula, the road takes you past rugged Pacific coastline, beautiful beaches, windswept cypress trees and the legendary Pebble Beach. Around just about every curve is another view that makes you want to stop for a picture.

It’s one of those places that really captures what makes the California coast so special. Ocean waves crashing against the rocks, gorgeous homes tucked into the landscape, and views that somehow look even better in person than they do in pictures.

And next spring, we get to experience it!

Did you know...Niagara Falls is slowly moving!

For thousands of years, the tremendous force of the water has been eroding the rock beneath the Falls, causing the edge to gradually move upstream. In fact, since the Falls were formed after the last Ice Age, they have moved about 7 miles!

Today, erosion happens much more slowly because the flow of water is carefully managed, but Niagara Falls is still changing.
Standing beside it, you really understand why. The sound, the mist, the power of that much water rushing over the edge...pictures just can't capture it.

Niagara Falls isn't just something you see. It's something you experience.

And yes...Jane's Journeys is going back in 2027!

If you’re visiting Niagara Falls, be sure to save a little time for Niagara-on-the-Lake. This charming town sits where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario, right across the lake from Toronto, and across the Niagara River from Old Fort Niagara. On a clear day, you can even see the Toronto skyline in the distance!

Niagara-on-the-Lake was the first capital of Upper Canada and was rebuilt after the War of 1812. Today, Queen Street is filled with beautiful flowers, historic buildings, locally owned shops, restaurants and plenty of sweet treats. It’s a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy a completely different side of Niagara.

What a fantastic day at Niagara Falls! Our wonderful tour guide, Don, joined us as we visited the Floral Clock, rode the Whirlpool Aero Car, explored Clifton Hill, and experienced the Falls up close on an unforgettable boat ride. We ended the day with a fantastic dinner at the Skylon Tower!

It was a fantastic day spent with fantastic people!

Niagara Falls, here we come! 🇨🇦

Our journey began with a delicious stop at Shapiro’s Delicatessen in Indianapolis, followed by an overnight stay in Columbus. Today, we continued across Ohio and into Pennsylvania, enjoying the scenery and building excitement as we made our way toward Niagara Falls.

Of course, we had to stop at Wegmans in Erie for lunch. It’s always a group favorite! We may have to stop again on the way home to pick up some of those beautiful mums. 🌼
