The 20th Annual Outlander Tour, June 23, 2023 - for the very first time, this tour will include the rail journey through the Highlands on the Jacobite Steam Train (Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter world). It will also be the last Celtic Journeys Outlander Tour that visits the Calanais Standing Stones on the Isle of Lewis. There are still a few seats available. If you're coming along, bring gems!

20th Annual Outlander Tour
Yes, 2023 marks 20 years that Celtic Journeys has been bringing the story to life, taking Outlander fans and lovers of Scotland to hidden gems of the Scottish Highlands. Two tours in 2023 - 11 nights beginning June 23, which includes a visit to the Standing Stones of Calanais, and 9 nights beginning October 2.

There are a few seats open on each date. Four- and five-star hotels, traditional Scottish entertainment including Gwyllyn the Bard, the inimitable Gillebride MacMillan for the 10th year in a row, period costume dinner at magnificent Culloden House Hotel with a memorable presentation by a Jacobite soldier.

Long before there was a television series, there was a spellbinding book by Diana Gabaldon. This tour visits the imaginary places created in the mind of this incredible author as well as some of the filming locations that paint the picture of 18th-Century Scotland.

Finally, after three seasons of uncertainties in the group travel business, the 20th Annual Outlander Tour is scheduled for 2023. This tour began in 2004 and has taken thousands of Outlander fans and lovers of Scotland on a magical journey not only to the fantasy of Jamie and Claire's beautiful Highlands but also to the reality of all that makes you fall in love with Scotland.

The pre-departure covid testing for entering the US is being lifted as of June 12! Dust off your passport!

The U.S. will no longer require travelers to show proof of a negative Covid test before boarding flights to the country.

One of the oldest buildings on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. The history goes way beyond "where Jamie's men were held prisoner." Looking forward to returning one day.

The Canongate Tolbooth. One of the oldest and most striking buildings on the Canongate and anywhere on the Royal Mile for that matter! Here since 1591, formerly a prison, courthouse, centre for administration, accommodation and now the People's Story Museum. Looks braw in the afternoon sunshine too with that 430 year old stone!

Celtic Life International is a lovely publication out of Canada that highlights the Celtic world; they've begun a podcast this year, and the current one features an interview with Graham McTavish from, of all places, his bed in a London hotel :D Can't prove it by me, but that's what the man said. Enjoy!

17 years ago today the shingle went up for Celtic Journeys and "the doors" were officially opened. During those years there have been many memorable times -- good, bad, happy, sad, and downright scary -- certainly enough to fill a book (or two). When COVID reared its ugly head last year, it was on the cusp of my 99th flight to Scotland and the 78th tour; never in my wildest dreams did it seem possible that this anniversary would find us grounded, but here we are. With so much to be thankful for, my grateful heart looks forward to returning to Scotland, and Wales, and Ireland with groups of enthusiastic, kind, patient travelers. Thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey, and thanks for hanging in for the next chapter. Slainte mhath.
