Summer Place The University of Hartford’s 4 exciting summer camp programs for children from pre-k to 12th grade Offered in three two week sessions.

The University of Hartford offers five exciting summer camp programs for children from pre-school through twelfth grade. Summer Place provides first through ninth graders the opportunity to create a daily schedule of enrichment courses and athletic activities that reflects their personal interests and talents. Summer Place Leaders In Training (SPLIT) offers an opportunity for tenth and eleventh gr

aders to develop leadership and communication skills. Offered in three two week sessions

Kinderplace for entering kindergartners, and
Li'l Place for preschoolers, are two special programs which combine the fun of camp with appropriate learning experiences. Summer Place Players program offers sixth through twelfth graders professional theater training and performance opportunities in a major musical production. After four weeks of intensive musical theater instruction, the program culminates in five performances of a musical selected in December of each year. Offered in one five week program. Minion Mischief: Supervillain Gru has sent his trusted minions Dave, Bob, and Kevin to Summer Place on a top-secret mission: recruit a new crew of clever sidekicks to help carry out his next big plan. Are you up for the task? Train for a life of hilarious mischief in Minion Training Camp, build wild contraptions like your very own freeze ray, and prepare to steal the moon in an epic final challenge! We’ve been busy inventing new classes for Summer Place 2026! In Crazy Contraptions, get ready to think outside the box and build with us way outside the lines. In this wild and wacky class, you’ll design and build your very own Rube Goldberg machine. Create a chain reaction of epic (and silly) proportions. Start small with marbles and dominoes, then level up with ramps, swings, and surprises. By the end of the week, you’ll team up with fellow campers to connect all your crazy contraptions into one MEGA machine that pulls off a simple task in the most complicated way possible. Why do it the easy way when you can do it the fun way?
