Okay, this is one of those ridiculously simple little things that makes so much sense once you're actually on the ship. 😂

Cruise decks can get WINDY, and there is nothing relaxing about finally getting settled into your lounge chair only to have your towel sliding down, bunching up, or trying to take a vacation of its own. 🌬️🤣

Interior vs. Oceanview vs. Balcony... Where Should You Spend Your Money?

I don't think there's a "best" cabin.

I think there's a best cabin for you. ❤️

One of the questions I get asked the most is whether a balcony is really worth the extra cost. The answer is... sometimes!

Here's how I usually explain it to my clients:

🚢 Interior Cabin
If you're the type who plans to spend all day exploring the ship, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying the ports, an interior cabin can be a fantastic value. It's comfortable, cozy, and often lets you cruise for much less.

🌊 Oceanview Cabin
An oceanview gives you natural light and a window to watch the ocean go by. It's a great middle ground if you'd like to wake up with daylight but don't necessarily need your own outdoor space.

☀️ Balcony Cabin
This is my personal favorite.

There is just something special about sitting on your own balcony early in the morning with a cup of coffee and a warm pastry while the sun rises over the ocean. Most cruise lines even offer complimentary continental breakfast room service, so you can enjoy breakfast without ever leaving your room.

In the evening, it's the perfect place to unwind after dinner, listen to the waves, and watch the stars before turning in for the night.

The best part?

There isn't a wrong choice.

I have to admit... I get way too excited about things that make traveling easier. 😄

This hanging toiletry bag is one of those things.

It's become one of the first things I pack because everything has its place. When I get to my cabin, I simply hang it up, unzip it, and I'm settled in within minutes. No digging through makeup bags or trying to remember where I packed something.

I was looking through cruise deals today, and this one made me stop for a second.

Not because it's the cheapest cruise I've seen...

But because I think it might be one of the best values.

One of the things I love about Norwegian Cruise Line is their Free at Sea™ promotion. Depending on the sailing, it can include your beverage package, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, and excursion credits. When you start adding up what those extras would normally cost, it really changes how you look at the overall price.

This particular sailing is a 5-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Getaway, departing December 9, 2026, from Port Canaveral.

Family pricing is currently starting at $1,778, and when you break that down, it's less than $90 per person, per day for your accommodations, transportation, meals, entertainment, and over $700 in Free at Sea perks.

I know it's easy to focus on finding the lowest price, and I completely understand why. But over the years, I've learned that the best vacation isn't always the cheapest one. Sometimes it's the one that gives you the most value, and I think this sailing is a great example of that.

🚢 Can I Let You In on a Little Secret?

If you've been thinking about taking a cruise, I have a feeling you've probably wondered, "What does my cruise fare actually include?" That's one of the questions I get asked all the time, and honestly, it's a great question.

Before I took my first cruise, I wasn't really sure either.

One of the things that surprises people the most is just how much is already included. Most cruise fares include your accommodations, meals in the main dining venues, live entertainment, pools and water attractions, youth programs, and transportation from one destination to the next.

One of my favorite included perks is something so simple. Most cruise lines offer complimentary continental breakfast delivered right to your stateroom. I love taking my coffee and pastries out onto the balcony, feeling the cool ocean breeze, and watching the sunrise while the ship quietly sails toward the next port. It's one of those little moments that reminds me I'm truly on vacation.

Of course, there are optional extras like specialty restaurants, spa treatments, shore excursions, and alcoholic beverages if you want them, but they're completely optional. You don't have to spend money every time you turn around to have an amazing vacation.

I think that's one of the reasons cruising offers so much value. Once you're onboard, so much has already been taken care of, leaving you free to relax, make memories, and simply enjoy being together.
