The more of the world I see, the more I realize how small our definition of “normal” really is.

Travel has a way of quietly undoing you.

You sit at tables where no one speaks your language, yet somehow you laugh together.

You watch families live with far less than you have and somehow seem richer in the things that matter.

You eat food you can’t pronounce.
You hear prayers you don’t understand.
You walk through streets shaped by histories you were never taught.
You meet people whose lives look nothing like yours, and realize their hopes, fears, love, grief and dreams feel remarkably familiar.

And eventually something inside you changes.

You stop believing the way you were raised is simply “the way things are.”

Because you’ve seen too many versions of a beautiful life.

Different religions.
Different traditions.
Different languages.
Different ways of loving, celebrating, grieving, eating, raising families and finding joy.

Travel doesn’t just show you how different the world is.

It shows you how human it is.

And maybe that’s why people who have seen more of the world often judge a little less.

Because once you’ve stood on someone else’s soil, eaten at their table and seen life through their eyes, it becomes much harder to believe there’s only one right way to be human.

You leave home thinking you’re going to see the world.

Then somewhere along the way,
the world changes the way you see everyone in it. 🌎
