Wil-deer-ness Cabin is a 2 bedroom / 2 bath log cabin nestled among the trees on 2 wooded acres. We have a fully stocked kitchen, linens are included (and washed by our cleaning staff so you don't have to), there's complimentary coffee, tea, and more waiting for you when you arrive and

even basic toiletries provided. We have games for children and adults, a DVD library with over 100 titles, and so much more. All you have to do is bring your family and decide which area attractions you want to visit. You can wait until you arrive and browse the brochures that are provided in the cabin, or plan ahead by visiting the Attractions page of our website. No problem. Stay around the cabin your entire stay and relax in the hot tub, sit around the fire pit, lounge in the hammock, or play a friendly game of horseshoes. The possibilities are endless! For all of our off the Mountain friends that are wondering if they should come up to Ashe County to check out the colors and to help support our local businesses, here is a recent map from www.drivenc.gov

West Jefferson and Jefferson are fully open and everyone is working around the clock to get our neighboring towns of Creston, Lansing, Todd and other parts of the High Country back on their feet.

Off the Mountain support is more important than ever as we are just a couple of short Months away from Winter which usually sees really good businesses having to close their doors in order to survive until Spring.

Donations and Volunteers are always welcome, but what the High Country needs now are prayers and green backs.... Many of our great Choose & Cut locations are starting to get ready for Christmas tree season so come on up early and see if you can spot that special tree lot that you can come back in November and visit.

Come see us... You will be glad that you did.

All current reservations can proceed as planned. Power has been restored at the cabin as of 10/4/24. The river path/access will remain closed at least until next summer. A future update will be posted once it's reopened. All other amenities at the cabin will be available for your stay. The towns of Jefferson & West Jefferson were not impacted significantly by the storm. Most businesses & restaurants are open with normal hours. The town of Lansing should still be avoided at this point, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is currently closed while they work to remove the remaining downed trees. As you’ve probably heard, hurricane Helene hit the Ashe county area pretty hard. There was significant flooding along with downed trees & power lines. We were very lucky and the cabin did not have any damage from the storm. However, the power remains off at this time and some of the roads may still be blocked or partially blocked by downed trees. The river access is completely destroyed and it will be a while before our guests can enjoy that area again. We’re monitoring the situation closely and staying in contact with our upcoming guests as their reservation approaches. We’re hoping things will be back to semi-normal within the next 2-3 weeks. The recovery work will take time to get the entire county back to where it was before the storm, but progress is being made every day. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to evaluate the ever changing situation. We’ll be in touch with our upcoming guests as their check-in date approaches to give an updated status.

We're excited to announce the addition of another property to Wil-deer-ness Rentals! Our new property is located outside of Raleigh, NC near the towns of Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs, NC. This property accepts rentals ranging from 2 weeks (14 nights) to 12 weeks (84 nights) and is available starting in April 2023. It's a 3 bed/3 bath home on over one acre on a wooded lot.
