West Jefferson is properly on this list and Boone improperly misappropriated the New River section as I consider it to be more of an Ashe County treasure. Visit New River Outfitters or Zaloos canoes to facilitate your New River adventures and stay at our place to view or access the river from our riverfront property (right down the hill from the cabin).

We have been busy this spring making our riverfront area even better. We added stairs to the river, a new bridge, rebuilt the fire pit and added some stairs up the hill behind the fire pit to that you can get a better view of our little waterfall and nice, secluded, view of the river from higher up.

Speaking of that, the weather is getting nice up there and there is good availability in spring, but summer is starting to fill up. Don't let your dates get booked while you procrastinate.

Just two hours North of Charlotte, West Jefferson is an enchanting mountain town with eclectic restaurants, intriguing shops and outdoor adventure.
