Disney Cruise Line is the ULTIMATE in family vacations for us because WE ALL GET A VACATION.

Heads up, listening ears on and let me say that again.

WE ALL GET A VACATION.

Parents, you've heard it before (and probably said it) - "traveling with kids isn't a vacation, it's parenting with a change of scenery".....or "it's a trip, not a vacation".

I've been there, done that. As a parent (especially as a mom) we're so concerned about making sure everyone is having a good time or taken care of that we feel more depleted when we return. We need a vacation from our vacation!

Not with Disney Cruise Line. There's a chance for everyone to truly relax. Parents get some alone time together and some solo time. Heck, we had to MAKE Grace leave the Oceaneers Club for family time some days!

We took our first family Disney Cruise in June and on one of our last nights Mike said to me "I can't believe we actually had a vacation. I'm actually relaxed. I can't wait to do this again". Luckily I already had our next one on the books! 😂

11 Days (!!) until we sail on the Disney Treasure as a family. I can't wait to show you how YOUR whole family can have an amazing vacation that everyone will enjoy 💙

Want to know something silly?

It's taken me half the day to post a Small Business Saturday post because I'm TERRIBLE at promoting myself on days like today. Everything I write seems trivial and, well, silly 😜

The truth? I'm a big nerd and when you choose to utilize my services as a travel advisor I do a happy dance. When I receive a referral from a past client or have a repeat client reach out I get a huge smile on my face. Every share and like puts a little pep in my step. Because let's be honest - by choosing to work with me you're supporting a small business and my family.

I am so incredibly thankful for everyone that places their trust in me when it comes to your valuable vacation memories. Yes, traveling is a fun "perk" of this job but moreso it's an opportunity for me to further my knowledge about a location, get photos and videos to show you what room will be perfect for your family and know that perfect spot for a stroller nap or adult only nightcap.

Thank you for the incredible year that you've given me and I can't wait to serve this community for the years to come ✨

I used to stand in long lines and fight the crowds - but then I learned.

There's no reason to stand in long lines and wish that you had known that you were visiting during a crowded weekend - consult a crowd calendar and know what to expect! I've visited Walt Disney World during every season and know what to expect with crowds and want to pass that knowledge along to you!

She's an ICON 🤩

Little Miss P and her adoring fans (aka the rest of the family) had the most amazing time on the Icon of the Seas this month!

The Icon is a MUST do for large families - there was so much to do for everyone that they didn't even leave the ship! 🤯 From dance parties to meeting Chief Dog Rover to solo time in the pool, a carousel and Zumba classes, there wasn't a moment that wasn't full of memories.

Thank you for trusting me with your precious family vacation memories and ! I can't wait to plan your next adventure!

Why this is so important ⬇️

If Hurricanes Helene and Milton have taught us anything when it comes to travel it's the importance of travel insurance!

Sure, there are some vacation spots like Disney World and Disneyland that are much easier to switch things around on and have flexible cancellation policies when disasters strike.

But other vacations, like most cruises and some all inclusives, are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to change without penalties and fees after that final payment is made. Don't get me started on airline tickets 😵‍💫

Most vacation suppliers that I work with have their own vacation protection or insurance that they offer and these are usually the easiest to work with. Many major credit cards also have protection on vacation products purchased with their card (check to see exactly what it covers).

And if neither of those are a good fit there's outside companies that offer vacation protection as well - some will even cover you for a full year's worth of travel!

I know it's an additional vacation cost but the peace of mind knowing that you don't have to worry about things being refundable and can focus on your family - that's priceless!

🎡California Dreamin' 🌴

Our longest family vacation that was a mix of work and fun for me but ALLLLLLL fun for Grace and Mike (and I wouldn't have it any other way).

This was Grace's first time to Disneyland and Mike hadn't been since 2012 when we went together for our first visit. I left my content creator hat at home and was in full mom mode. Selfies galore and core memories created.

Don't worry - I still put on my travel agent hat and tested out a few strategies too. I have sent countless families to Disneyland but it was great to see that my recommendations still held true and I was able to test out a few new ones too.

What's something you've been proud of lately?

For me, it's the Inaugural Conference that I helped coordinate at Disneyland last week with the amazing DVMoms admin team.

Two years ago when I was asked to help with this conference I thought "that's a great opportunity for me as a travel agent to expand my business and also help a community that I'm a part of".

Needless to say it was SO much more.

Yes, it has helped my business - 300ish DVMoms attended and most stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for the 3 day conference with many extending their stays to include family time in the parks. I worked with so many DVMoms, helping them navigate the parks and maximize their stays. I created a fully branded Disneyland Parks guide for the conference that has MY name and on it. I'm immensely proud of the work that went into all of that.

I'm even prouder of what this conference was doing. From the unique and novel ways that seminars were presented - from playing games to learn concepts and painting the brain while we learned about brain mapping to making our conference bags a template for embroidery that could keep our hands busy and help us absorb traditional lectures better. I can personally attest to the fact that I WILLINGLY stayed in lectures until 6 PM....while at DISNEYLAND 🤯. Not to mention the fact that there was an easily accessible childcare option for attendees to utilize that the kids LOVED and it allowed moms to then enjoy time at Disneyland with their families after the conference. This conference was making changes to the industry that can only help us.

On a personal level I've grappled with how to still incorporate veterinary medicine into my life since leaving clinical practice. Even though clinical practice isn't the right place for me during this chapter of life I experienced so much fulfillment helping these veterinary families have meaningful family experiences through travel. This conference opened up my eyes to the idea of creating more opportunities for DVMoms to travel together, with or without our families, and fill back up our cups 💕
