A good family trip leaves room for people to want different things. 💛

Grandpa may want an early start. Someone else wants a slow breakfast. The kids are asking when they can get in the pool.

That’s worth talking about before we build the itinerary.

I like to start with what everyone wants to share, then leave room for a little independence. A relaxed afternoon apart can give everyone something to talk about over dinner.

You can enjoy being together without spending every waking minute on the same schedule. 🌴

If planning Europe has turned into twenty open tabs, it might be time to close a few. 🧳

One hotel looks lovely. Another has a better location. Someone in a Facebook group says you absolutely have to add three more cities.

And suddenly, the trip you were excited about feels like homework.

Start here: What do you actually want your days to feel like?

Next week, my office will look a little different! ☀️ Josh, Shepp, and I are heading to AVA Resort in Cancun.

I’ll be attending a travel conference, meeting with suppliers and fellow travel professionals, and bringing home fresh ideas and connections to help plan your next getaway.

Meanwhile, Josh and Shepp will be living their best lives with water slides and poolside Miami Vices. I think they’ll manage just fine while I’m in meetings. 😂

He's four, works for snacks, and immediately made a mess of the filing system. 🗺️

It's mid-September, and I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee looking at photos from Greece and Turkey — and somehow that trip already feels like it was a year ago. 🌊

(Seriously. Where did August go?)

Here's the thing nobody tells you about this time of year: it's when the good stuff for next year gets booked. The river cruise cabins with the balcony. The Alaska sailings in the sweet spot of the season. The Ireland and Scotland trip you keep saying you'll do "eventually."

By the time the holidays are over and you're ready to think about it, the best options are already spoken for.

What am I working on today? A little Ireland, a little Scotland, and a little time underwater. 😂

🍀 A 17-day girls’ trip to Ireland and Scotland, complete with a private driver. Everyone gets to enjoy the scenery, and nobody has to volunteer to drive on the left!

🤿 A guys’ scuba trip to Bonaire. A very different kind of getaway, and so much fun to put together.

✈️ Getting a couple booked on my Ireland and Scotland group trip for next September!

It’s officially September — and apparently my mind is everywhere but Missouri. 😂

There’s something exciting about seeing these trips come together—whether you’re dreaming about cobblestone streets, Scottish castles, or spending Christmas somewhere warm.

Not every cruise is the same — and choosing by destination alone can sometimes lead to the wrong experience.
🌊 Ocean cruises are great for more onboard entertainment, larger ships, and a wider variety of activities.
🚢 River cruises are usually more intimate, with smaller ships and easy access to historic cities and villages.
🧭 Expedition cruises are for travelers who want something more remote, adventurous, and outside the usual route.
The right cruise depends on how you like to spend your days, how much activity you want, and what kind of atmosphere feels most comfortable.
That’s why I ask quite a few questions before making a recommendation. The ship matters — but the fit matters more.
