Walked past this statue before without knowing the story?

In 1974, Munich received this bronze statue as a gift from Verona (the city of Romeo & Juliet). It stands in the courtyard passage of the Old Town Hall, right at the edge of Marienplatz.

💌 Local tradition:
People leave flowers and love notes at her feet, and it’s believed that touching her right breast brings good luck in love (you’ll notice it shines brighter than the rest of the statue 👀).
